Kai's pov

I'm so glad that everything has finally come to a peace, I should be happy about this but.. Why do I have an uneasy feeling ? "Kai! It's time for dinner," robotic sound echos from the kitchen. Oh how Kai had missed his old tin can. "Comin'!" Just as is ready to get up from his bed to go downstairs, an overwhelming feeling clogging in his throat. Did I ate something wrong? He thought while running to his bathroom and puke up. What has surprised and shocked him is the sight of red flowers that bloom beautifully like when he once saw it with his family during the spring. Bloody red. "Kai?" but this time it is his little sister calling him. Panicking, he quickly flushes down the flowers and thank god it didn't clogged up. "I'm comin'! I'm comin'!" as he quickly runs downstairs.

In the dining room,there sit his family excluding Sensei Wu who is meditating in the other room. "What took you so long?" "Ya," Nya asked along with Lloyd's agreement. Cole just slurping his noodles as Zane slightly scolded him for his poor manners. Kai didn't answer and just sits down, a hand sneaks up to his palm and grabs him, Jay. Kai looks up at him and blushed only a little, he's not really the kind that get easily blushed but when he really did blushed, it usually go unnoticeable. "Arg yu okway?" Jay says while chewing his spaghetti. Nya knocked on his head while the others laugh at the scene, typical Jay. "Ow! What? I'm trying to be comforting here!" "Atleast gulp down your food first!" Kai chuckles a little, maybe he just feels a little blue and decides to push away the thought of red flowers for a while. Maybe, checking with doctor would be a great idea, he doesn't want to worry the others anyway. "I'm fine, just checking on social media and kinda got carried away?" Zane raises an eyebrow and says "But you responded to me when I called you, surely your memory couldn't be that bad?" Kai just shrugs away and jokes about how his short term memory is getting worse.

Just like that , dinner continues on. Kai looks at Jay and Nya joke happily together, he kinda feels a little envy about their relationship and maybe a little jealousy? Arg,what are you thinking about Kai? Get a grip! You know you don't deserve to be loved, remember? Kai thought bitterly as he eats his final bite. "Since you're the last one finish, you have to wash our dishes,"said Zane as he helps Kai to place those plates into the sink. Kai sigh but he knows the rules. Whoever finish the last has to wash it. Kai walks to the kitchen and starts washing. Looking at the water, Kai feels the same tingling feeling again. He did his best to quiet down as he keeps on coughing till two tiny flowers left his throat. He quickly turns left and right to see if anyone has witnessed his weird act. To his fortune,no one is noticing, all of them are gathering in the living room to watch a movie since it's been so long since they have a quality bonding time, especially with Zane who is now a titanium.

He discard the flowers and continue washing. The rain seems to be falling outside right now, both the raining sound and water sound in the sink somehow jolt an old memory that was not worth to be recalled back again.

Flashback

The sky was having a heavy rain fall. However, Kai could care less that he is literally soaking wet right now because his little sister was having a fever for first spinjitsu master's sake!

"How much is the medicine for fever?! My sister is burning hot right now!" Tears were streaming down his cheeks, he pretty much begging for help right now. "How old is your sister?" "She's eight!" "Lead me the way!" Both of the nurse and the young boy were basically running to his house to save his sister. Kai was grateful to have met a kind nurse who was willing to help him . People usually just shunned him away but as long as his sister was not bullied or anything, he is fine.

"Take this medicine for three times a day and make sure she has all the antibiotics, it can make her immunity stronger," "Thank you , thank you so much!" He kept on bowing but the nurse stopped him. "No, I just pity of this little poor girl here. Apparently you are not doing a great job at taking care of her. I mean look at her! Isn't this all your fault that your sister is having a sickness right now? Let alone live in this petty place, no wonder your parents had abandoned you two. Bet they left because of you too ," The nurse said as she packed up her things and left. Kai was stunned, speechless as he collapsed down to the floor. Is it exhaustion? Is it heartbreak he felt and why does everything she said sounded so true? He didn't know anymore as darkness consumed him.

"Earth to Kai!" Kai jumped at the sound and quickly turned off the faucet. "Thank god I came checked on you, who knows how high our water bill is gonna have?" Kai just wipes his hands after washing the dishes for god knows how long. "Hehehe, awkward.." Cole muttered to himself . Of course he know there's no such thing as water bill or even an electric bill, they have both of the elemental master for fms sake!

"You're not going to watch the movie with us?" Jay asked concernly , he actually purposely put on the film that he knew it was definitely Kai's taste. "Nah, I'm going to hit the hay. Don't worry, you guys go on without me," Kai said without looking at them as he walked back to his room. "Is it me or did Kai seems weird tonight?" after a moment of silence Lloyd voiced out, oh how brave he is.

The next day, the young boy had a fever and a certain nurse wondered why she had slept in a dark alley . Despite her staff mates had no idea her whereabouts last night,she's glad she's safe from whatever might or might not happened as she continued her shift in the hospital.
