Worlds Collide

Roman

Virgil stormed out and since I want to talk to Patton more, Logan leaves, taking a thin blanket with him to talk to Virgil. I don't know why anyone would want to talk to him. He is rude, moody, and he is a complete asshole.

Patton pulls me from my thoughts, "So Roman. What would you like to talk about?"

"Oh uh. I'm not completely sure since I'm still shocked. Your real. It's cool."

He giggles and it is adorable. He is adorable. "How come we are not allowed to know about you?"

Patton seems caught off guard by the question, "I'm not sure. Virgil always answers that question differently."

Of course he does. Virgil knows everything. (Sarcasm).

Patton asks, "Can I ask you something about your mother?"

I nod, "Sure."

"You said she died in a hospital. But... That's not true. She... She died by something and she was never in a hospital."

"What? That's a lie. I visited her while she was in the hospital! I- She was there!"

"Calm down. I think I know what happened."

"What?"

"Your mother is... She is a half blood. Half human half witch. Virgil knows more about her but... I think a shapeshifter was acting as her in the hospital."

I freeze, "Is she alive?"

He shakes his head, "No. She died. I'm sorry."

"How do you know all of this?"

"I told you I did some digging and used my powers to see what happened to her. I was able to see flashes but... I can't really make anything out."

I bite my fingernails, a terrible habit I have, "Why? Why would anyone want her dead?"

"Because she put all of us in danger. And half bloods are um... They are seen as a disgrace and its normal for them to die."

I feel tears building up and a lump in my throat, "Do you have any ideas who would do this?"

He hesitated to answer, "Well... The King he... He always had something aganist her. There was his friend who was the shapeshifter. I assume he had something to do with her death. He was the one who was most likely in the hospital."

I make a fist. I was talking to a shapeshifter who acted as my mother. I was vulnerable and poured my heart out to them!

I glare at Patton, "What are their names?" My voice is deep, intimidating, and filled with hate.

He looks worried and hesitantly answers, "The shapeshifter is named Janus... The King is Remus. He actually kind of looks like you..."

I stand up, "I do not look nothing like a killer!" I have no idea what the king looks like but he killed my mother and there is no way I'm letting him get away with that.

Patton stands up, "I didn't mean it like that! I'm sorry!" His voice drips with worry.

"Its fine. I just need a moment. But I will get rid of this king and that damn shapeshifter."

"What," Logan's voice came from the back door.

I see Logan who has the emo shapeshifter with a cover around him. He is standing close to Logan which is making me uncomfortable.

I say, "The king and some shapeshifter killed my mother. The shapeshifter was acting as my mother in the hospital."

Logan looked surprised, "You want to fight a king?"

"Yes. I do. I will."

Virgil says, "Your stupider than I thought."

I turn my attention to him, "Shut up emo freak! You probably wanted her dead!"

Virgil rolls his eyes, but he got tense, "She annoyed me Roman. But I would never kill someone... Well for you I would make an exception."

I run towards him but he goes purple then disappears. I stop running before I hit the wall.

Logan grabs me by my shoulders firmly, "Breathe Roman. You need to calm down."

I push him away, "Where the hell did you go Dr. Gloom?!"

On the top of the stairs there is a small purple glow before Virgil is standing there.

He glares at me, "Janus and King Remus wanted your mother dead for a long time."

"How do you know," I yell.

He glanced at Patton, his face flashed to panic. Suspicious. He definitely knows something.

Patton jumps in, "DUCK!"

I look at him confused, "What?"

He looks shy and nervous, "You heard me..."

Virgil slides down the stair railing, "Anyways. Let's get some food. I'm hungry."

Logan nods, "Agreed."

Patton rushes to the kitchen, "Yay! Food!"

I can't believe how fast they all want to move on! I need to avenge my mother. I need to kill Janus and King Remus. With or without them.
