Name: Prisim (I decline to give me real name on here for the most part)
Age: Old enough to know better, young enough not to care. I'm considered a wattpad "oldie"
Location: Southern California.
Why do you enjoy writing and what made you decide to start?:
I enjoy it because it's fun and for the most part it's a nice relief from my mundane life. I started writing when I was 10. I used to have these adventures every night with my stuffed animals. Swift Heart Rabbit would journey to a planet of Dinosaurs where he (at the time I didn't know Swift was actually a she) met Little Foot, Ducky, and all the Land Before Time gang. There they'd have wacky adventures. One day I decided to write it down. Even drew really crappy cover art ha ha. I managed to find them the other day and haven't gotten the courage to re-read them ha ha. Been writing off and on ever since.
I probably will never see myself as a "good" writer, I have too many challenges to over come that just writing a coherent sentence is a struggle for me. Between just general bad grammar/spelling and mild Dyslexia/Dysgraphia I can amuse myself greatly with every edit read through. But it's fun and as long as it's fun I'll continue to do it.
Favourite published books: Stephen King's just about anything but IT is probably hands down my favorite. I mean I'm not scared of clowns but Pennywise was just CREEPY! He got me through high school along with R.L Steins Fear Street. I fell out of reading for a little while because I just didn't have time in college to read, though I did read Harry Potter, but I'm starting to get back into it. Working my way through the first book of The Wheel of Time right now, just finished the Hunger Games. I admit I read Twilight.
Favourite Wattpad books: Hmm let's see. Off the top of my head ForeverMalak is my clone of clones! It's sometimes scary how much she's like me when I was her age. Um, I'm working through Paladin by SallySlater and loving it. The Accidental Siren by JakeVanderArk is just a great coming of age/Paranormal story and I LOVE his little nods to things we both grew up with
Favourite Genres: In High School I read mostly horror but lately I've gravitated to more Fantasy books.
Review
Reading Freelander, I fell in love with the character Abby. She's like every other teenager and has to deal with her own first love and the baggage that comes with it. But she wasn't expecting to deal with magic that turns her world upside down and inside out. You get to meet the central characters and see them through her eyes.
I read Ewah first and thoroughly enjoyed it. The story is in the point of view of Josh one of the main characters. We read how he and his friends are the children that magic foretold. It deals with all things magical and has unicorns, mermaids and a few gods. It's the ultimate in escapism and takes you on a journey that you don't want to end.
Both books are incredible. The more you read, the more you lose yourself in the world that Prisim has created. She's cleverly written the two books in the central characters point of view, which I think gives you a better understanding of them both. Not to mention that it adds extra flavour to the series. I would love to see these in print and I know my daughter would love to read them. I'm eagerly awaiting the third installment to see how my heroes are doing.
If you enjoy fantasy and love the escapism that such books induce - then this is a MUST read for you. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. These two stories will be the ones that I will re-read over and over again.
