1970. A lot of wild things happened in 1970.

Who am I, you ask? Well, a better question is: how do you not know?

I am Sir James Paul McCartney, former bassist of the Beatles. Nowadays I'm on my own, as I have mourned the loss of my companions and soulmate.

I might as well explain the wild ride... also known as the year I went insane...

As priorly spoken, the year was 1970. Let it Be had just been released.

It was clear we were all fed up. After all, I wasn't even the first to leave. Ringo had made that decision years earlier, but returned to his drum case covered in flowers.

We had been fighting for far too long now. It's about time we branch out; go our own ways.

April 10 was the dreadful day. I had announced my separation from the band I had given so much to.

That did not go over well.

John was furious. Weeks later he lashed out at me, arguing about my new solo album and how even with his experimental albums, the thought of quitting never ran through his mind.

I made the breakup official. I had thought it was time to move on, take a step forward in life and settle down with my wife, Linda...
