Chapter 21 --- Surprise Party

[Back to the Penthouse]

"Got admired huh?" V said wiggles his brows at Jennie who's holding his phone tightly.

"Um no." Jennie back to her sense and said.

"Then why are you holding my phone so tight like you are grabbing her."

"Oh, do you want me to drop it then?" Jennie said in a bitchy tone and pretend to drop his phone cause V was nervous and apologized quickly then get his phone back. Jennie smirked at him then shook her head.

After a while of chatting and talking about their careers, the food is ready and they started to eat.

"Any information?" Jennie suddenly asked while munching her food.

"About what?" Nayeon looks up from her dish, raised her brows, and asked.

"Jisoo." Jennie simply said made all of them stop and got silent for a while.

"Jennie..." Irene started, "maybe you should just let go.."

"Yea Jen, I mean... it's been so many years already... if she did, then she's probably far away now, we won't be able to catch her anymore." V said it softly, trying to convince her.

Jennie sighed, not looking at them. Lisa and shE met 10 years ago, and the incident happened 6 years ago. But still, she remembers that night clearly, it never fades away. Every single spot in that scene, she remembered it clearly. She's always working on this case, asking them to help, but none of them got any signs of progress.

"I do ask for a friend to help checked the plate number you gave me, but it shows that it's never registered," Nayeon said with a helpless tone.

"Because they erased them all." Jennie sighed. "And I have a strong guess it's her stepdad."

"But why would her stepdad wanted to kill her?"

"I don't think her and her family relations are good, remember the fight back then... she said that her family won't care at all even though she died. And Jisoo once told me that her stepdad is really cruel and he destroyed everything that she wants." Jennie stated made the three of them nodded, then Nayeon look at her and said slowly.

"Destroy everything she wants? Lisa wants to be your friend so badly that time..." Nayeon then widened her eyes at what she just said. "Wait so that means... the person who was supposed to die that night was you but instead Lisa saved you so..." she didn't finish her words cause she was shocked then covered her mouth when she saw Jennie nodded.

"Yes." Jennie nodded. "Things ain't that easy I'm telling you guys." She said then stood up and grab the plate, "I'm done, I'll be upstairs at my room, I'll stay here for today." Then she walks towards the kitchen to put the plate before she heads upstairs to her room.
