[Lisa's POV]

"Why do you need this! Aren't we happy already even if it's just the two of us?" I yelled with my whole lungs, can't feel more betrayed than ever, more of all for my dad. There are lots of unreadable expressions on my mom's face, sadness yet happiness all combined in one.

"Lisa, baby please lis-" I cut off her words by throwing everything on the desk harshly to the floor, made our living room chaos with papers and glass shattered around on the floor. I was sure pissed off with what's she doing, I never thought mom could really move on that easily within a month period.

"There's nothing need to listen Mom! How can you do this to dad huh! It's only been a month since dad's funeral happened, and we were all crying so hard seeing him, my dad, your husband, being buried down with that cheap coffin into that cold, dark moist ground. Tell me, are those tears of yours fake? Are you just faking mom? Tell me!" I can't bear to hear all the shits right now, I'm just too mad, feeling dad has been betrayed after all these years. Mom chose to forget everything and remarry to a man that she probably barely knows. "This is bullshit mom, how can you just marry that guy when you don't even know him? For what? Wealthiness? Just because he's damn rich? I never knew you were a gold digger mo-" Right before I could finish, a hard slap landed on my left cheek.

"That's cross-line Lisa. You probably don't know him, but I've known him since pre-school. He's always there for me even after I met your dad. And marrying him doesn't mean I forgot everything that we had in this family. This family has been the greatest gift God has ever given to me, a blessing. I love your dad more than ever Lisa, and you too. Your dad never failed to flutter my heart after all those years until he passed away." My mom sighed, in a stressful way. I was just looking down, not dare to look up or mind to say something. I don't feel like I can utter out a word properly, maybe I was too much earlier, maybe I crossed the line way too much. I was about to apologize for my words when mom started to speak again.

"Lisa... I was just tired, tired of all these, the loneliness, the emptiness. It's never about money Lisa, marrying him is also to help your dad accomplish his last wish." I frowned, what kind of husband ask for this? For his own love marrying someone else... "Your dad wants me to be happy, he wants me to find someone who can accompany me like he was supposed to do for the long road."

Now I understand, Dad wants nothing but mom to be happy even if she's with somebody else. My tears starting to drop when I heard mom's sniffs. I went up and pull her for a hug, soothing her by patting her back in slow motion. "Sorry..." That's all I could say, with a low whisper, and that's it. No one talked anymore after that, and the next thing I knew was they have settled the wedding day already. And I agreed eventually... for my mom's happiness for sure.

Wide smiles are forming are my face every day seeing Mom is back to her old selves again. How she enjoyed being with her new husband, my stepdad, Choi Hyun kee. You could always hear giggles and playful arguments between the two elders. But good things never last long, it has never been so soon when he started to show his controlling sides towards me and mom, but mostly me. It all started when he failed on something, something that we all don't know but occurred with deaths. Mom got extremely shock when she found Choi was involved in this, so did I. But as if he cares, he's like coldblooded, even abused mom for asking him the same question too much. I tend to stop him but failed and ended up being locked up in a secret chant of his company, the CHK building.
