Chapter 41 --- You Never Know [🔞]

Jennie sighed and inhaled deeply before she exhaled out with the words she never thought she would say, looking at Lisa.

"Let's break up Lisa." She said made the girl kneeling in front of her got stiffened on her spot, shaking her head hesitantly, slowly, not believing what she heard now.

"Y-you are joking.... right Nini?" Lisa asked stammered with a quivering voice, shaking her hand softly.

"I'm not, let's break up," Jennie said again made Lisa froze more, collapsed on the floor, feeling thousands of knives stabbing her heart right now, breaking into pieces.

"W-why! All of a sudden, why!" Lisa asked, biting her inner cheeks preventing her tears. Body trembled, closed her fists, holding back the anger.

"I don't love you anymore."

"Bullshit!" Lisa shouted out made Jennie flinched on her spot. "Tell me a reason why is it! We've been through all this and now you are telling me you don't love me anymore!!? That's bullshit, Jen." Lisa stood up and shouted again, heart shattered, clenching her fist, can't understand why is all this happening. But still, she tries to control herself, hands supporting herself on the table.

"Lisa... please... Don't make this hard for the both of us, just leave." Jennie pleaded, tears falling, feeling her chest aching.

"I won't leave until you tell me what actually happened. Come on Jen, it wouldn't just happen without a reason, two days ago we were still the happiest couple and now you are telling me after two days you've changed your heart? Well if so you should be moving for the past 6 years when I'm announced dead."

"Lisa please I'm begging-"

"Stop with all these lies!" Lisa finally yelled out in frustration and slammed the table hard, rubbing her face. Jennie got scared at her sudden reaction, she has never seen Lisa being like this before, she would always control herself even if she's really mad, but not this time, she let it all out. "Tell me, Jen. Please, at least... let me know the problem causing you to say that." Lisa calmed herself down, kneeled on the floor in front of Jennie who's sitting on the edge of the bed, reach out for her hand and squeeze it gently, pleaded, tears escaped without her knowing.

Jennie didn't take back her hands nor she said anything. She's just looking down at their holding hands, feeling Lisa's soft squeezed, a tear dropped on their hands. Just then Jennie felt a pair of thumbs on her cheeks, wiping off her tears along with a sigh.

"Jennie... is it about my stepdad? Did he find you?" Lisa asked after a moment of calming down herself. Jennie felt shocked about it.

"How.. how did you know?"

"Cause I know you won't just say that unless it's under these kinds of circumstances. I've also been through this Jen, I could tell."

"I'm sorry Lisa, I'm sorry for this, but he's going to kill you if I don't leave you." Jennie cried out, feeling helpless.

"He won't ok? He's just threatening you. We've talked about this before right? That we'll fight together instead of going on alone. You might think that we weren't meant to be because of all this mess but yet we are, we always are! Remember how fate brought us back even though I kept on avoiding you? Well, that's it right?" Lisa asked and chuckled, made the girl in front giggled also, wiping her tears off as she nodded.

"I know but-"

"Shh, you never know what's gonna happen, Jen. We never know, and we are working on putting him in jail already, I've got some evidence from a friend and I've heard about Kai. He's gonna be a great help on this, also Irene and Jisoo have the records of him for the past few years, all the dirty things he did, it's gonna get revealed. He's going down soon Jen." Lisa holds her arms and said, assured her a smile. Jennie sniffed as she hugs Lisa tightly.
