True enough, Aiden kept me safe. There were two guys, probably his men, who caused a distraction. Kaya naman ay tahimik kaming nakaalis sa rooftop. That was why he wanted us to dance. Hindi lang para makita ko ang paligid kung 'di para na rin mapalapit kami sa exit.

Normally, I wouldn't back down in a fight. Pero dahil outnumbered ako at ayokong magkaroon ng gulo, pinili ko na lang na umalis.

"I'll go to my room," paalam ko at pinindot na ang tamang button sa elevator. This is a separate elevator from the one the guests used. Kami lang na mga occupants ng Empire ang pwedeng gumamit nito. Students from other buildings can't because their prints aren't in the Empire's system. Their route is also just straight from ground floor to rooftop. They can't get on other floors.

"I'll go with you."

I pressed his floor as a form of saying no.

"Hindi naman nila ako masusundan dito sa loob. You can go."

Nang bumukas ang elevator sa fourth floor ay inilahad ko iyon sa kanya. The brute just ignored me. Nakuha pang pindutin ang close button kaya naman mabilis kong hinarang ang kamay ko sa gitna para hindi iyon tuluyang magsara.

"Do you want me to bring you to my room instead?" he smirked.

Hell no! Inalis ko ang kamay ko. The door closed and then it opened on my floor. Nakasunod siya sa akin hanggang sa tapat ng kwarto ko.

"Lock the door on your balcony."

Napairap ako. I know that.

I just went in without saying a word. Huminga ako ng malalim nang makapasok.

Aiden's every action confuses me. Even Colton. Bakit tinutulungan nila ako? They're supposed to see me as their enemy... same as how I see them as one. Why isn't that the case?

Totoo ba ang sinasabi nila? Is it true that their family had nothing to do with my family's death? How can they justify that? Danté presented hard evidence about their involvement! I saw the footage in our house after that incident. I saw how Cortell men stormed our house in and out. I saw how the prints they left connected to them being Cortells. I saw it all!

Danté can't be wrong about that. He never makes mistakes. He knows how important the truth about my family's death is to me. He won't fuck that one up. And I shouldn't question him because I trust him more than the Cortell siblings. Not that I trust them, anyway.

Naghuhubad ako ng long dress nang biglang bumukas ang pinto. I immediately grabbed my duvet for cover up. Handa na ring itapon ang hinubad na flats sa kung sino man ang nasa pintuan. My annoyance spiked up when I saw it's Aiden.

"What the fuck?!"

"I'm sorry," he said but his eyes found its way to my exposed back. Hinarap ko siya ng tuluyan para mawala ang tingin niya roon.

"The hell are you doing here?!"

I forgot he has override authority in my room! Damn it! Paano pala kapag hubad na ako? Buti na lang hindi pa tuluyan at mabilis ang reflexes ko.

"Forgot to ask. Do you want to borrow my laptop?"

"Para saan?!"

Every second that he's here in front of my almost naked body, my blood boils more.

"Thought you might want to do an investigation on these odd things happening around you."

"Well, can I do that?"
