Breach

Mabilis akong tumakbo patungo sa kitchen. Naabutan ko ang mga kasama sa Empire na nakapalibot kay Natalia. Even Colton who's supposed to be upstairs is here.

Akari is trying to calm Natalia down. Nanginig ang sistema ko nang tuluyang makita ang kaibigan. She looks scared and in hysteria. Hawak ang isang matalim na kutsilyo sa kaliwang kamay habang nakatapat iyon sa kanang kamay.

"Natalia..." I called.

"The voices won't stop. Please, make it stop," aniya at bumuhos ang takas na mga luha. She's shuddering in fear.

Dahan-dahan akong lumapit pero agad napatigil nang ilapit niya pa lalo ang kutsilyo sa pulso.

"The voices aren't real. It's just in your head. Please, listen to my voice. I'm here."

"No! I killed my mother. I should be dead, too! The voices say I should be dead..."

"Don't believe them. Just listen to me, please," I said. Inilahad ko ang kamay ko. "Give me the knife."

Umangat ang tingin ni Natalia sa akin at kitang-kita ko ang takot sa mga mata niya.

"Nyssa, help me..." sabi niya sa nagmamakaawang tono.

I nodded at her. "I'm here. I'll help you. Just... drop the knife."

I could try to use my speed and snatch the knife away from her. Pero hindi magiging sapat ang bilis ko lalo pa't mas lalong inilalapit ni Natalia ang patalim sa kanya. I don't want to risk it.

"I'm the reason why she's dead. Pinatay ko siya, Nyssa. I killed her!"

I closed my eyes because of frustration. Natalia won't calm down! It's been years since she had an attack like this. Bakit binisita siya ulit ngayon? What could have possibly triggered her past trauma?

Narinig ko ang mahinang utos ni Aiden na kumuha ng first aid kit at tawagan ang ospital.

"She's dead, yes. But no one is blaming you for it. Natalia, focus on my voice. Tutulungan kita. Don't believe what the voices say."

"It's true..."

"No. Maniwala ka sa'kin, it's not-"

"But it is! I should kill myself. That's what they say!"

"Calm down. Don't believe them. You just need to listen to-"

"Them! Listen to them!"

"No!" sabay na sigaw nina Akari at Iris.

In a swift move, Natalia slashed her wrist with the knife. Agad siyang natumba dahil doon habang ako ay hindi makagalaw sa sobrang gulat.

Blood flooded from her wrist. Agad siyang dinaluhan ni Aiden.

"Maverick, hand me the elastic bandage. Hurry!" utos nito.

Tulala ako habang pinagmamasdan ang walang malay na si Natalia. Aiden bandaged her wrist and lifted her up. Umalalay din kaagad sina Riku at Maverick.

I was utterly in shock as they rushed Natalia outside and onto the waiting hospital car. Hindi ako makagalaw sa gulat na naramdaman.

Natalia can't die! I can't lose her. Not here. Not today.

Natauhan ako nang hilahin ako ni Mia palabas ng building. Nagpatianod ako sa hila niya hanggang sa makarating kami sa ospital.

I didn't know how long we stood outside the hybrid room. They're all talking while I remained silent. Nang lumabas si Aiden sa room ay agad akong lumapit sa kanya. Mukhang nagmamadali siya pero hinarangan ko.
