Mystery

I slept too much. Nang magising ako ay umaga na.

Nilibot ko ang paningin. My room is big. Lalo pa't wala masyadong laman kaya malawak kung tingnan. Aside from my luggage, the furniture and a few select paintings on the wall, it's totally bare. I suddenly missed my shelf of weapons back at HQ. It would look so good here in my room.

Inayos ko ang mga gamit ko bago naligo at nagbihis. I chose a floral printed v-neck dress and paired it with a white ankle strap heels. On normal days, I would usually wear training clothes. Pero dahil nandito ako sa Origen at may misyon, I had to adapt.

Nang makalabas sa kwarto ay agad nahagip ng tingin ko ang ilang tao sa common area ng third floor. They're all seated on the gray leather couch. Naroon din si Natalia at nakikihalubilo na.

"Nyssa, come here!" tawag ni Akari. Lumapit ako sa kanila at agad namang tumayo si Akari at hinila ako sa tabi niya.

Narinig ko ang sipol ni Riku habang nakatanaw sa legs ko. Tss. Asshole.

"Everyone's acquainted with Nati already. Ikaw naman ngayon."

Nagpanggap akong nahihiya. I cleared my throat, too.

"Hi, I'm Nyssa," tipid kong pakilala.

"I'll introduce you to them. First, here's Mia Hernandez," aniya sabay turo sa babaeng pula ang buhok. "The daughter of Helena Hernandez."

Oh. I can clearly see the resemblance.

"This hot girl right here is Iris Carodan," sabi niya at nilapitan ang magandang babae. She'd absolutely pass as a fashion model because of her body and looks. "You can ask her anything and she'll have an answer for you. High IQ. A genius."

Nginitian ako ni Iris kaya sinuklian ko naman iyon.

"Ito naman si Maverick Carodan. Iris' cousin. I guess he's nice," Akari said. Natawa roon si Riku at Mia.

May isang lalaki na tumayo at naglakad papalayo.

"That one's Lucas Petrov. A total snob. Moody as hell but he's nice sometimes," si Akari na nakasunod din ang tingin sa lalaking umalis.

"And of course, Aiden and Riku. You already met them yesterday."

Riku winked at me suggestively. Si Aiden naman ay diretso lang ang tingin sa akin. I couldn't quite figure out his expression.

"Where's Owen?" I asked.

He said he lives here. Bakit wala siya rito? I count seven people except me and Natalia. Helena said Empire has eight occupants.

"Owen? You mean Colton?" si Mia.

My jaw almost fell.

Owen is Colton? As in Colton Cortell?

"Yeah..." I answered in a calm manner. Kahit pa gulat na gulat sa nalaman ay pinanatili ko ang composure. Binalingan ko si Natalia at binigyan niya ako ng mariing tingin.

"Still asleep most probably. That kid's never early."

My target... is a kid. A fucking kid!

I'm an elite spy and a skilled fighter, alright. I've killed many people. But those people... they're all horrible. Masama pa sa masama. They deserved those deaths.

I know Danté already gave me the go to kill the Cortell heir... but I didn't expect a kid! How the hell would I kill someone who's literally so young and so innocent? Well, maybe not that innocent but still so young!
