Family

We look like a band of idiots.

Mia took charge of all the planning needed. Lucas helped in tactics. The twins are just listening and ready to follow instructions. Aiden and I were both silent because I feel like we're the ones who are most affected with Colton's disappearance.

I felt responsible for it; Colton is his brother.

"Is it necessary that we all go? Pwedeng kami na lang ni Lucas," sabi ko. Nakatanggap lang ako ng mga masamang tingin dahil doon. Napailing ako dahil hindi magandang ideya ito.

It's stupid in any way I look at it. These people are all part of important and powerful families. For them to be together is like a jackpot for whoever's looking to get to them. And yes, with the kind of lives they live, threats are infinite.

Mia arranged for a jet en route to Moscow. From there, Lucas reaches out to the good brotherhood and we pursue leads– as a group. I can't fucking believe it. Six people looking for one person is an attention magnet. I'm willing to bet a thousand bucks that we'll be made way too early.

Guess I'll just have to prepare myself in case I have to defend their stupid asses.

"This is a stupid plan, right? Tell me I'm not the only one who thinks so," I said to Aiden in a low voice. Nahuhuli kaming dalawa. The rest are meters ahead of us.

Helena allowed all of us to go out and we're on our way to the airfield outside the campus.

"This is fucking stupid. You're too out in the open," he said.

Kumunot ang noo ko. "No, I meant this is stupid because there's plenty of us looking for Colton. One person or two could do it."

"I'll be keeping an eye on you," he said, still not getting my point.

"What are you on to?"

He glanced at me. "You're impulsive. If we get to Colton's kidnappers, I know you'd be stupid enough to go after them and eventually to Danté Vasquez. I won't let that happen."

Umawang ang labi ko sa bahagyang pagkagulat. That idea actually passed my mind... Damn Aiden and his ability to pick up on things.

"Tss. Aren't you worried about Colton?" I asked instead. Iibahin ko na lang ang usapan dahil baka mas lalo niyang mabasa ang isip ko kapag pinabulaanan ko ang sinabi niya.

"Of course, I'm worried. But Colton is smart, I know he'll be fine."

"That's a lot of belief in him, don't you think? A shot was fired in the basement, Aiden."

"I know for sure he's not dead. If he is, all hell would break loose," he said in a scary tone.

Nanahimik na lang ako. I double checked my weapons. I made myself aware of where they are. I have a gun and enough magazines strapped on my waist and throwing knives hidden in my boots.

"Won't you take a weapon?" I asked. Wala akong makita sa kanya.

"I have a gun," aniya at pinakita ang inside pocket ng jacket na suot.

"Doctor with a gun. Nice."

That's kinda ironic. He's supposed to save lives, not inflict pain. But yeah, he's a Cortell. What more can I expect?

The secret passage on Empire's basement was our way out. Dito rin dumaan ang mga kidnappers ni Colton base sa mga basag na cameras sa bawat sulok. Also, the shoe prints weren't hard to miss.
