Salutations my fellow bokoblins, this is my first time writing a novel, so please don't be harsh with comments. Feedback is helpful for anyone willing to give it out.
Lisomah POV
I woke of from a dream of the incident, sitting there in a cold sweat thinking to myself, "I couldn't save them". It had been a little over 15 years since the genocide. I was only 93 at the time, but I could have done something to help. My mother had sent me off on a boat and told me to get far away from there. I still remember the scream she had made when she had been sliced in the back with an axe. My uncle, dead on the docks. My father, pierced by a blade. As for the rest, I am unsure. These nightmares keep haunting me, tormenting me. I look at the clock.
Lisomah: "I can't change my past, but I will change the future. It is time to go to work."
I leave my bed, gather my equipment, and walk out of my quarters. I work for the Thieves' Guild, a fairly well-known Guild within the city of Waterdeep (Different city but the same name from D&D). I'm one of the more skilled members, so I am well known throughout the city. No one knew where I came from, but knew who I became. When I washed up on the shore the leader found me and took me in. I felt at home again. For being named the Thieves' Guild, most of the members are friendly folks. They showed kindness. We treat each other like family, which feels nice since I had lost my old one. They trained me and my skill grew quickly. My skill grew quickly, as did my reputation. I was known by everyone who lived within Waterdeep, both in and outside of the guild. Unfortunately, we had lost a precious artifact. The Amulet of Karthula was a relic that helped forge this guild. Karthula, the goddess of the thief, keeps us strong. I walk towards Franslen in the main room. I go to ask Franslen the same old question.
Lisomah: "So Boss what is tonight's task?"
Franslen: "Glad you asked. There is a trio of robbers who stole the Amulet of Karthula, a valuable necklace that we had. It was our most valuable possession as you well know. You'll most likely find them at the Bloody Goblet at this time of night. This is a dangerous assignment. These three have shown to be skilled, though we don't know where they had come from. I trust in your skill. Seek them out, and retrieve the amulet. Return once you have finished."
Lisomah: "Yes sir."
I leave the guild HQ and look around. I spot the bar and make my way towards it. Nothing seems out of the ordinary. I hear talking moving towards me. I spread my wings and fly to the top of a building. I look around to see if I can see them. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a trio of robed figures walking towards the bar. No doubt they'll know me. I stealthily move across the building to follow them. I see them enter the bar. I hop down and pull my hood over my head. I walk towards the door and open it.
Lisomah: "Alright, time to retrieve the amulet."
