Salutations fellow bokoblins. If you all could do this for me, go checkout MandaKink's channel on Wattpad. They have been really helpful and supportive of my work. They also are a wonderful writer themselves.
Lucius POV
We all march in the fields through the afternoon. According to Lisomah, we should arrive at Fort Shamble by tomorrow afternoon as long as we go on schedule. We are going to set up camp in a few hours before the nighttime darkness sets in.
Lucius: "So Brodsky, how has captaining the Morning Star been since our departure?"
Brodsky: "It has been fine. Smooth sailing until we reached Waterdeep. When we met up with the survivors of Senneto."
Rolen: "We really do appreciate you guys letting us ride for free. We had no gold to get a ticket."
Brodsky: "It's alright. Plus you are paying back enough by fighting on the front lines."
Lisomah: "So how have you guys been, before the attack I mean?"
Lia: "We have been fine. Life went on as it normally did. Things felt quieter without Lucius, Feral, or Lucan. They seemed to brighten up others' day."
Lisomah: "Lucius, I thought you said others resented you because of Rolen."
Rolen: "Things changed upon your departure. It seems that even though they resented our family, you, Lucan, and Feral brought life and joy to the others. They really did love you and your kindness but were stuck up by their pride."
Lucius: "I see. So deep down, they really did care about us."
Lia: "Indeed. I don't mean to come off as rude Brodsky but aren't you young for a Captain?"
Brodsky: "During Lisomah and Lucius' trip, the ship was attacked. During which, the captain, my father, had lost his life. In a note, we found after his death, he said that I was the perfect person to take his place. The rest of the crew agreed on that and I became the new captain."
Rolen: "So this Alliance took away something from you as well. Though I am sure others had lost so much, including Lisomah, from what I had heard."
Lisomah: "Yes they did. I was only 93 at the time. Besides Sabjorn and Shella, those heartless beasts took away my parents, my other uncle and aunt, and everyone else I knew and love from Remire."
Lia: "I am so sorry for your loss. It must feel horrible to lose them, at such a young age for your species as well."
Lisomah: "It was. But Lucius helped me heal from the scars of my past."
Rolen: "So how did you two meet anyway?"
Lisomah: "During the genocide, I fled Remire on a boat all the way to Waterdeep. I was found by and raised by the Thieves' Guild. They are nicer than you would suspect. I lived in Waterdeep with them from then on. During one of my missions, I had to go to the Bloody Goblet, an infamous bar in the city, and "take care of" some Drows who stole an amulet from the guild."
Lucius: "Around the same time, I went there to grab a room to stay the night in. Those Drows told me to let some Aasimer know where they were for business purposes. At the time I didn't suspect anything of it since I thought the guild would have actually business with them. She walked in and I told her where they were and she left from there."
Lisomah: "As you could have guessed, a fight started between me and the Drows. I couldn't handle all three of them at once. Lucius came in to save my hide. After talking for a bit, I had learned that he was taking a trip to the Veridian Empire to visit Tralar. He had a spare seat and offered to take me along."
