God's Treasure Chest. A beautiful and lush island filled with people of all different colors and shapes and sizes. They were all lovely people and all of them adored God. They worshiped as if it were what they had to do to breathe.
They did not only worship God though. The Crown Jewels were most beloved as well. They were the ones who spoke with God via their angelic guardians.
One day God told them the final immortal would be born. They asked who it would be as no one but the crowns could see their angels, but he would not reveil who it was. All he said was that she would have the voice of an angel and that she would be one of the red jewels. On that day the crowns all decided that they would listen to each red jewel on their 18th birthday sing and whoever had the best voice would surely be God's chosen immortal.
The years ticked by and the singer's began lining up as children grew into adults and they each tried for the position on the Crown but none had that heavenly ring that God assured them would be there. He told them that when they heard the girls voice they would know instantly who she was as she would be the only one they would ever want to lead his hymns again. So the search continued for many years...
"Luci! Luci! Where are you hiding now you silly thing?! Called an sweet voice from behind a bush.
The young angel boy laughed and pulled his knees to his chest, making sure to pull his fluffy white ears down and hold his halo in his lap, but unfortunatly there wasn't much he could do about how large his wings were and before he knew it a face with two bright red eyes burst through the bush before him and smile spread wide on her lips as her wild red locks got tangled in the leaves and twigs of the bush. The boy let out a small scream and a laugh as the girl yelled, "gotcha" and lunged at him, tackling him to the ground with her skinny frame. "I found you!" She cried excitedly and he laughed and hugged his friend.
"Yes you did Ruby! How do you always find me so easily?" He asked as she sat up off him and she started pulling twigs and leaves out of her hair.
"Lucifer your wings are way taller than you. You gotta hide behind taller stuff if you even wanna have a change. Silly." She said and he chuckled, placing his halo back in its place on top of his head.
"Oh yeah. I forgot about that." The boy reached up to help her clean out her hair and ruby took notice that his heavenly robes weren't dirty in the slightest even after she tackled him into the dirt and she couldn't help but feel jealous of the extremely fuzzy and fluffy boy. He never got dirty at all.
"What do you wanna do today luci?" She asked once her hair was clean and she stood up, dusting off her dirty tan burlap robes.
"Do you wanna go swimming again?"
She made a face, "no. Last time the other kids took my robes and I had to walk through town naked back home..."
He frowned. "Oh yeah... I forgot that. Um... we could go to the library."
"It's Sunday luci. Library isn't open to kids on Sundays."
"Oh..." He stood up and scratched his ear in thought.
Ruby thought too, crossing her arms and tapping her foot before her eyes widened. "Let's sneak into the Parthenon and watch the other reds try and get onto the crown!" She said excitedly.
Oh to be on the Crown was this little 13 year old Jewlels biggest dream.
Luci smiled. "That's a great idea Ruby but... what if we get caught?"
"We? You mean me? No one can see you luci. The only one you're ever in trouble with is God."
"Yeah and that's cause you're always getting me into stuff..." He said, pouting before she rolled her eyes and took his hand. "Oh come on luci! Who knows! Maybe the Parthenon will be our home someday!" She said as she started leading him out of the woods and through the busy city streets to the large building at the center of the island.
The two made their way around the building to a small crack in the wall behind it and slipped inside and crawled up through the wall to come out on a small ledge just above a stage where the crown jewels sat out in front of it and watched as a young jewel entered the stage.
