See her next show he did. And the next. And the next. And the one after that and even the one after that. And each time he would come up to her, flashing those eyes at her and talking to her with that warm voice that she wanted to keep listening to forever.
It was just like usual, he walked up to her, handing her a rose and giving her a wink. "Wonderdul as always ms. Ruby." He told her and she blushed, leaning in and smelling that hint of cologne on his coat that she had noticed after his third visit and it absouloutly intoxicated her.
"Thank you very much. I'm guessing you still won't take off the hat?" She teases and he chuckled.
"Fraid not darling."
Her heart fluttered at being called darling but quickly was knocked from her thoughts of this man when he heard King Dice speak as he approached.
"Hey mom. Wheezy said he needs your help with something at the...bar..." He looked between his mom and this stranger and did not like how his mom looked so goo goo over him. He folded his arms in annoyance.
"Oh! Ok baby. Mr. Let me introduce you to my son. King Dice. Sweetie come say hello." She said as she moved off the edge of the stage and dice stepped closer to her, slipping his arm protectivly around his mother. He never liked it when men oggled her and he really didn't like it when theyd talk to her.
The man chuckled. "I never would have guessed you had a son ms. Ruby. You have such a fantastic figure." He said gesturing to her waist and she giggled and patted dice's chest.
"Well that's because he's adopted but thank you! I've been the same dress size for over 4000 years now." She stated proudly.
"So it's true. You really are immortal?" He asked
She nodded, blushing a bit. "Yep. I'm just under 6000 now. Lost track of the exact number long ago though."
He chuckled. "Well I do hope you don't mind a kid like me asking but... would you care to go out for dinner tomorrow night?"
Her eyes widened and so did dice's.
"If it means I can finally see the face behind the flowers you sir have a deal."
"Mom!" Dice tried to protest but she patted his chest.
"King honey go tell wheezy I'll be there in a minute."
"B-but!"
"Dice. Go on now." She insisted gently and he growled and stormed off, not happy about leaving his mom with that creep.
She blushed as she watched him go and shook her head. "Sorry about him. He's protective..."
"No no. I get it. He loves his mom. He's a good son. I'd be protective too... so I'll see you tomorrow night for dinner?"
She nodded and he took her hand and kissed it as he did every night he came to see her show. "Then I'll leave you to it. Good night darling." He said before turning and taking his leave.
Once he was gone ruby felt her heart hammering out of her chest and she did a little happy dance and made a high pitched squeaking noise of pure joy before collecting herself and hurrying out to help wheezy with whatever it was he needed.

The next day dice sat on her bed and watched her get ready and he glared, pouting. "Mom I don't like that guy. You shouldn't go out with him!" He tried for the third time to insist. 
She sighed as she put on her heart shaped ruby earrings and she smiled at his reflection in her vanity. "Dice. Honey. For the last time. Your mama is a big girl and can take care of herself. I'll be ok." She assured.
"But mom you've never even seen his face! What if he's a creep and and he tries to hurt you!"
"Then I'll stab him with the knife I keep strapped to my thigh when I leave the casino dice." She said flatly, picking up her lipstick.
He blinked. Surprised that she said that so plainly. He always forgot that she could be bad ass when she wanted to be. But that didn't make him ok with her going.
"But mom..."
"Dice. Honey. I love you. But I'm going. I've only ever been with one person in all my centuries and frankly I regret it. I turned down so many good people for no reason and I'm not doing that again. I'll be fine." She said, turning and kissing his forehead, leaving a red lipstick stain on him.
"Mooom!" He whined about the mark and she chuckled. "Oh! Are we too big for moms kisses now?" She teased, her hands on her hips.
"No... but I've gotta work." He said, going to find a make up wipe to clean it off and reapply his foundation in that spot.
She chuckled. "Oh sure. Don't let people know you love your mama. That's fine." She teased.
He playfully glared at her reflection. "Who's being a little shit now?"
She laughed brightly and hugged him close when he finished fixing it and he sighed.
"Just be careful mom..."
She nodded. "Always am baby. Have a good night." She said as she let him go and headed out the door to wait for her masked man on the casino steps.
