There was a war. It changed our way of life, and isolated us from other lands. After the war our founders decided we needed to change our way of life, and try to improve it. They decided on your 17th birthday you pick a job out of the hat of harmony, they figured if they took away your choices you take away the violence that comes with it. Whatever the piece of paper has on it is the rest of your life, no trading whatsoever. The whole thing is televised,
so your new bosses can see you for the first time so it's important to make an impression. Weather it's good or bad though is up to you. Each job is equally important and interesting, at least that's what they say. Every job has a cadsek assigned to it for example...
If your a farmer your cadsek is food
If your a doctor your cadsek is medicine
And so on so forth. The only weird one is a cadsek is money but it's not earning money, that's forbidden. The money cadsek is made up of lawyers, judges, accountants, bankers, that kind of jobs. Anyway Even Your house is in with people who have the same cadsek as you, and how good the quality of it is, is based on your job. We don't get paid, because there's no need for money. Every day a zx comes (a robot like thing that flys) and delivers your food. Everyone gets the same amount and quality. And your house is already paid for, another idea belt of the founders. So in exchange for food, water, heat and shelter we work.

They figured if they take away the part of being able to get anything we would be improved humans, and would erase violence. But if you don't want your job and refuse to work to improve the city of dephths your forced to become a colk or homeless person. When your a colk no one respects you... They can't, you made the choice. So on the night of your 17th birthday you go to a ball, and try to find the love of your life. You get 1 month after your birthday to find love, you can go to the balls, walk around, anything but that special connection needs to be there. If there not in the same cadsek as you though you can either marry them, loose your job and become a colk.

Or you can try to find someone else. That's why many people just marry there boyfriend or girlfriend at the time. Divorce is forbidden, how can you be peaceful if you hate someone!?All this is written down in this museum on a tablet. It's called the conciliator, and our way of life revolves around it. In three short days I'll be picking my job from the hat of harmony with my twin brother Acer.....And I'm terrified.
