The bell rang over our heads and so it ended the first meeting this course, inaugurating the Student Council. My chest was still beaming with pride as I picked up my belonging and rose with Dalia, making our way calmly out the library.

"Vice president, uh?" she hummed impressed, and I grinned wider. "I know you would make it. Congrats."

"Thanks." I grinned wider, not believing it myself. Vice-president.

Junior Head Girl and vice-president.

"Novella, wait!" a voice reached us just as we emerged from the library along with the rest of the members of the Council, stepping aside not to obstruct the path we turned to see very president, Roonie Lanforth, by our side with a small smile as she smoothed her already perfect skirt softly.

She'd obviously been elected, she was the vice-president last year and the epitome of efficiency. The campaings and events she ruled were always nothing but perfect. Roonie was strict, yet approachable and charismatic, hardworking and stubborn... and a senior now, so if everything goes smooth, maybe next year once she's graduated the place would be mine. That would look impressive in my resume and applications.

I couldn't wait to tell my mother. She'll be so proud!

But I have to be on Roonie's good side for now so I grinned back. "Yes?"

"I just wanted to congratulate you, I'd heard nothing but good thing from the Jensen's girl. I'm looking forward to work with you."

"Yeah girl." smiled one of the eve present minions that followed her everywhere. A pretty girl named Irene Richardson. She nodded her head with approval. "Congrats."

I blushed at the compliment, incredibly happy that my effort was finally showing off. "Thank you. And congrats to you too. Your speech from before was so good."

"Thanks." but then the cheerful mood shifted to a more formal one. "Look, now that you're vice-president, there's gonna be a lot of pressure on you as well. I know it might not be the nicest part of this, but come with the pack. We should probably meet up sometime and catch up, you know," she winked. "Build up some strategy."

I couldn't believe it. Roonie Lanforth was actually talking about teaming up. This was goals. Not bad for a first day, uh?

"I-" my voice failed quavered and I glance sideways to Dalia that stood there looking between us in awe as well, when she saw me looking for reassurance she nodded at me, her eyes saying 'Damn it, Nova, she's the Roonie Landforth'. I snapped out my fleeting daze and shake my head back at the students' president. "Yes. Of course. That would be great."

"Lovely, then." she grinned and looked like she was about to say something else but we heard a commotion from the other end of the crowding hallway that immediately attracted our attention.

Well, everyone's attention.

The moment those three appeared turning a corner, with obnoxious laughs and shoving each other around the whole student body seemed to stop and stare, getting out their way fast and staring form the sides as they walked pass like they owned the place and, well, they did.
