"Good morning sunshine!" My brother yelled with a grin as I crossed the never ending hallway and into the living area.

I stopped and gave him the biggest glare I could muster at this time of morning. I was not a morning person. I took in his appearance with a scowl. He was freshly showered, evident from his damp blonde hair that was sitting messy on his head. His slim frame and blue eyes too alert and alive for me to deal with.

I looked at him for a long minute before pushing cranky Emily to one side with a sigh. "Haven't you got work today or something?" I muttered crossing my arms over my chest.

"Actually no I don't. " He grinned. "I just had an interesting text, guess what?" His eyes sparkled with amusement. I furrowed my brows with a shrug of my shoulders, it was all the effort I could give for now. "Grey is flying home today." I stilled at that, my sleepiness leaving me for a momentary second.

Greyson Scott.

My brothers childhood best friend.  I knew my brother has somewhat of a regular contact with him but given the fact of who Greyson was and what he had become, trying to remain in contact was a military mission. At least he made an effort for Jase.

I've always somewhat held a massive grudge against him since we were children. At the age of eleven, I was completely and utterly in love with Grey but he never returned the affection and I was too shy to even express my feeling to him to make him think otherwise. It was understandable, he was a teenager and our family's are quite close but I still held it against him.

A long time ago he was my best friend too, winding me up to get me frustrated, drawing stupid little pictures over my favourite books and teasing me about my pigtails. As an eleven year old, I was pretty invested. I spent all my spare time with Grey until he left.

"He's coming here?" I asked Jase, my brother trying to keep my surprise at bay.

"To this house?" I nodded. "No, he's going to be staying at Charlotte's on his break for the tour." I breathed a sigh of relief at that. So he was going to be staying with his Mum? Who lived just down the street.

"He's going to be staying down the street?" I asked slightly ticked off. "Is our street going to be filled with camera crews? I thought he didn't invade on Charlottes privacy? You said he didn't like the media knowing where his parents house was?" Jase noticed my tone and sighed while rolled his eyes.

I watched as he perked himself on the arm of the black sofa, completely masculine like everything in this house. A lad pad as he calls it."Yes and yes." He cocked his head to the side eyeing me. "I don't understand this problem between the both of you, you loved him when we were kids." I stilled as my breathing slowed.

Loved? To Jase this was a harmless prediction, I loved him as a friend. It was almost the truth, I did love him. However there was a difference of loving someone and being in love with them.

"Fifteen years can change a lot about a person Jase." I muttered. "I may have not seen him but I've seen the articles in the media regarding him. He's practically a stranger, definitely not the Grey that I once knew." I told him, watching as he shook his head with a smile.

"He's not a thirteen year old anymore Emily and giving his situation, that would change anyone." He shrugged. "It's just a shame that it's snapped for the whole world to see."

Ok so he did have a fair point. I don't know why I was being so defensive about this news and somewhere I knew it was because of the bitterness that I had stored against him. His last summer before he left to chase stardom changed a lot between us.
