We stood there for a while staring at each other, Grey didn't leave and I didn't move either. It was like we were trying to summon each other up, he was looking at me staring straight to my soul and I was trying to do the same. Unfortunately, the eye can only see as far as the eye and with Grey that was impossible.
If I didn't know him, I'd think he's an angry constantly and unapproachable. However, I did know him. I knew him before he found fame and most of all, I know the real Grey. The Grey that would help me up from the ground because I was the most clumsy child, the Grey who would never let anyone say anything bad to me and if they did, he protected me like he was human shield. The Grey I knew was sweet, caring and thoughtful. The Grey in front of me was still the Grey I knew, life just dealt him a few bad cards.
"If your certain that's what you want Emily, I'll go." He finally spoke up reaching for his jacket, lifting his hand to offer me a small wave. "I'll see you later." He added as he headed towards the door.
Who was I kidding? I didn't want him to go. I didn't want to be just friends with Grey, I made assumptions on anger and now I was regretting them.
I chased behind him, pulling his arm in an effort to make him stop. He didn't. He kept walking, my socks sliding along the floor as I whined. When he didn't stop, I barged past him and locked the door throwing my hands across it, standing in a position relevant to an 'X'.
"What are you doing Emily?" He groaned, "You can't lock me in your apartment against my will, that's called kidnap baby." He was holding back a smirk I could tell but he did his best to hide it.
"I didn't mean what I said, I was angry." I burst out, "What we agreed upon, wasn't working for me." I told him truthfully with a sigh.
"Then it's fine, we're friends like you said." He shrugged walking closer to the door, I held my hand out stopping him.
"I want to revise the rules."
"I'm listening." He replied with a small nod, his lips thinned.
"It's clear to see that I want a relationship and you don't, so we're not on the same page." He tensed immediately, "So I would be happy with what we have under one circumstance." I held up my pointer finger to elaborate as he smirked.
"Go on." He encouraged.
"If we're having sex together, I don't want to do that if there's a chance you've been with someone else before it or going to be after it." He opened his mouth to speak but I stopped him, "I understand we're not together but...but.."
"Spit it out Emily." He muttered growing impatient and shifting on his feet.
"What if we just didn't have sex with other people while having sex together." I suggested with a shrug causing him to smirk with a small chuckle.
"I'm not into threesomes Angel." He smartly replied, "Although if that's what your implying I'm more than..."
"I didn't mean that, what I mean was.."
"I was joking." He muttered, "So what your saying is...if we're having sex, I can't go away and sleep with another woman and you can't sleep with another man?" He concluded simply, much more simple than I explained it.
"Yes." I breathed out.
I watched as he looked at me for a few moments, tilting his head to the side before turning and walking further into the apartment. He placed his jacket down on the sofa, lifting up his coffee cup that he hadn't finished.
"I'm fine with that." He replied simply as I looked at him like he had grown two heads. No moodiness, nothing. I wasn't expecting that. "On one condition." He added and there it was.
