I still remember the third of December
Me in your sweater, you said it looked better
On me, than it did you, only if you knew
How much I liked youAutumn:
"We should do this more often," You claimed, squeezing Ellie's hand a little tighter. She looked at you, just in time to see you shiver a little, pulling your flannel closer to your body. Even though she could tell you were freezing, you had the brightest smile on your face as you both walked around Jackson hand in hand."Are you cold?" She asked, worry clear on her face as she began to shrug off her extra coat.
Shaking your head, you said, "No, no, it's alright. I'll hold off until we reach the cocoa stand near the diner."
Ellie ignored your claim as she handed you her jacket, a small smile on her face. "Take it."
You laughed softly as you took the jacket, immediately feeling warmer as you put your arms through the sleeves, her smell engulfing you. You took a deep breath as you gave her a thanks and took her hand back in yours.
But I watch your eyes as she walks by
What a sight for sore eyes
Brighter than the blue sky
She's got you mesmerized
While I dieWinter:
"Oh my God, I totally beat you! I don't know why you keep denying it, Ellie," You laughed, swinging yours and Ellie's hands between the two of you.She scoffed, rolled her eyes, and said, "Yeah right. In your dreams."
"Actually, I'm pretty sure it also happened in a dream too," You claimed, grinning smugly at your girlfriend.
"Oh? So, you beat me at the shooting range in a dream as well?" She said, copying your playful demeanor.
"Yep, and-" Your words cut off as something slammed into your back, making you stumble forward.
"What the fuck?" Ellie muttered as she helped you back on your feet, looking around for the culprit who had thrown the snowball at you.
You dusted yourself off and looked up, finding Dina running up to you both, a sorrowful expression on her face.
"Oh shit, y/n, I'm sorry! One of the kids managed to hit you as they aimed for me and I ran past you at the perfect time. We were just playing, I swear!" Dina informed, following with multiple apologies. You smiled and assured her that it was nothing and that some snow wasn't going to harm you.
A few kids ran up to you, also apologizing for their schemes. You ruffled their hair and bent down to their level, chatting away with the group.
All while Ellie and Dina talked, a new spark found in their eyes as they did. You only took notice after you told the kids to scram. Looking at your girlfriend, you immediately knew something was off but didn't want to play to your suspicions.
"Well, I gotta get going. I'll see you guys later. Bye, y/n. Bye, El." Dina said, winking at Ellie and running off towards the group of kids that waited for her.
You gave her a small wave and turned to Ellie, only to find her staring off at Dina. A smile that should've been reserved only for you found on her lips.
Why would you ever kiss me?
I'm not even half as pretty
You gave her your sweater
It's just polyester
But you like her better
Wish I were heatherSpring:
"You don't make any time for me and you always ignore me, Ellie! And when we are together, all you do is stare at her!" You shouted, frustration clear in your voice."She's one of my best friends, y/n! Of course, I'm going to spend time with her!" Ellie yelled back, now standing up from her couch. She ignored your statement about always staring at Dina.
"You lent her your jacket when hers was three fucking feet away from her! You both constantly flirt with each other all the damn time, too!" You snapped, recalling the event from an hour ago.
"Oh my God, she was cold."
"It's eighty degrees outside, Ellie! Eighty!! If you love her, just leave me. I can't keep watching you fall in love with someone else as you claim you're in love with me." You said, whispering the last phrase.
"Fine. We're done. Get out of my house."
Shock wavered in your body at her words, but you refused to let any other emotion besides anger be seen on your face.
Tears welled in your eyes as you walked away, slamming her door behind you, finally letting the tears fall.
Watch as she stands with her holding your hand
Put your arm 'round her shoulder, now I'm getting colder
But how could I hate her? She's such an angel
But then again, kinda wish she were deadSummer:
"Are you sure you even want to go? Ellie's gonna be there," Your friend Cat warned. You nodded your head. "Yeah, I'll go. I have to show her that I don't need her anymore. That I've moved on."
"Y/n, you can't keep thinking like that. You need to get over her. If you don't you're going to keep digging yourself a hole." Cat said, laying a comforting hand on your shoulder.
You didn't say anything as you stood up, and walked over to your closet, trying to decide on what to wear to the party that evening.
—
"I'm going to go get us drinks, alright?" Cat said, disappearing when you nodded back at her.
Leaning against the wall, you crossed your arms defensively. There was no sign of Ellie, but you watched as Dina conversed with multiple people, a large grin on her face as she did.
Cat still hadn't come back when Ellie walked into the room, heading straight for Dina.
You straightened, uncrossing your arms as she laid an arm around Dina's shoulders.
She never showed much public affection with me. You thought as you watched Ellie lower her head and kiss Dina on the cheek.
And no matter how much you wanted to, you couldn't find it in you to hate Dina. She makes Ellie happy, and that's all you've ever wanted if you were being completely honest. Just for Ellie to be happy.
Why would you ever kiss me?
I'm not even half as pretty
You gave her your sweater
It's just polyester
But you like her better
Wish I were heather.
