Author's Note - This is set on the morning - afternoon of New Year's Eve. I know if you add up all the times I've given since Pre-Christmas it's way past New Year's, but I forgot to write about it, so just pretend it's only been a week, hahaha. Enjoy!
'That settles it.' Diana said finally. 'We're having a New Year's Party. Here.'
'What part of "Phan are doing a livestream tonight" translates as "Let's have a New Year's party!" to you?' Rebekah asked incredulously.
'Look Rebekah, I understand your love of YouTubers, I really do. But you used to get so excited for New Year's, and now you want to spend it in your room alone?' Diana replied impatiently.
'With Phan' Rebekah muttered. 'But fine'.
'I don't see what the big deal is,' I laughed, 'writing a new number on a page doesn't change anything.'
Rebekah sighed. 'You don't get it.'
'I really don't,' I grinned, 'but I do love parties. Let's send out the invitations and get some grub. Who wants to come food shopping?'
______________________2 hours later, Elise, Sky, Diana, Rebekah and I stepped out of the shopping centre and screamed.
'Oh. My. God.' I gasped, dropping my shopping bags.
'IT'S SNOWING!' Sky squealed.
We ran on to the grass in front of the shops and started scooping up the snow to make snowballs. My hands got so numb that all my throws missed by miles, so I decided to switch to making snow angels.
My outfit choice of a skirt didn't seem like such a good idea, but I wasn't going to miss out on a chance to play in the snow, so I went for it. 'YOLO!' I shrugged as I dived to the ground.
Sky got out her phone and started filming me, doubling over with laughter. 'She's making snow angels, in a skirt' she wheezed, as Rebekah and Diana lay down beside me. 'They're really insane'.
Elise said, 'Guys, I know what we should do! We should find a patch, and then all make footprints and stand at the edge of them, and then take a picture!'
'MY HANDS ARE GOING NUMB' I screamed, but I ran behind her to a clear section of snow, as Sky started to sing 'Let it Go', changing the lyrics to 'Let it snow', and Rebekah joined in passionately.
'Just when I had gotten over Christmas' I joked. Seeing our tracks appear on the white blanket of snow really was magical.
'IT'S SNOWING!' I screamed again, jumping around crazily. We stood in a circle and took a picture of our feet and footprints in the crisp snow.
When none of us could feel our hands anymore, we decided to head home. Rebekah bought us all hot chocolate at the train station, and Diana got us chocolate bars.
'Best day ever' I sighed. 'What a way to end the year'.
It really would be a day to remember, but not just for the reasons I was expecting.
________________________Authors Note -
The next chapter will be the party, sorry to leave you hanging! *cough* mangosnapple *cough*
Not everyone is in this chapter (I usually mention absolutely everyone), but it's because the snow scene happened in real life and it was amazing so I wanted to write about it. The four girls in this chapter are the ones who were actually there. Most of the quotes are word for word because we took heaps of videos. Thanks for an awesome day guys. <3
Everyone will be in the next chapter, stay tuned!
Sorry again for the bad timing, hahaha
