Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow (Sort Of)

The week before Christmas is spent decorating, shopping and ice skating. I'd like to say I have the biggest love of Christmas in the group, but we all get extremely excited.

Rebekah and I get a cold three days before Christmas (of course), so while the others go out that day, we stay in the house making final preparations for our Pre-Christmas.

You see, since we're all such good friends, obviously we'd love to spend Christmas together. But that's not possible because we all spend it with our families. So, every year on the 23rd of December we have a Pre-Christmas, where we give each other our presents, have a Christmas dinner, watch Christmas movies, and basically just listen to Christmas music.

On Christmas Eve everyone goes back to their family home so they'll be there in time for Christmas.

Even though Rebekah and I are sick, we get very hyper when it comes to Christmas. I start obsessively rearranging the decorations so they're symmetrical while Rebekah is trying to show me her 'Indie Christmas Muzaks' playlist. 'That's great' I smile, 'but maybe we should stick to the classics?'.

Rebekah sighs and says 'Fine'. Suddenly her face lights up. 'I've just remembered something' she says. She runs out the door and comes back two minutes later with something behind her back.

'What is it?' I ask. She triumphantly holds up a can of fake snow. I grin and whisper 'Are you thinking what I'm thinking?'. She nods and we burst out laughing. Those girls are in for a surprise when they get home.

Alice is first in the door. 'What the...?' She says disbelievingly as she looks around the now completely white living room, dropping her shopping bags.

'Oh my God. Um...' Grace starts. 'What is it? Please tell me that is not real snow.'

'It's... BEAUTIFUL!' Aisling screams, running around. Rebekah and I join her, shrieking and jumping on the sofas, belting out Christmas songs as we lie in the fake snow.

Hazel and Alison look at eachother, smile and race to join us, making snow balls and throwing them violently at Elise and Grace. 'Oh come on!' Hazel shouts in response to Elise and Grace's indignant shouts. 'It's not even cold!' Alison giggles.

The door opens again and Diana and Sky are met with a snowball to the face. Diana stops in her tracks and stares, her mouth in a perfect 'o' of surprise. She brushes the snow off her clothes, shakes her head at our weirdness and whispers to Sky 'ding dong merrily on high'. Sky cracks up laughing as I start to sing the song, not noticing the joke.

'DING DONG MERRILY ON HIGH, IN HEA - wait a minute!' I run over and cover them in snow. Sky is rolling on the floor laughing at this point 'Wow, well done honey' she slow claps me sarcastically.

We spend the rest of the night drinking hot chocolate in the 'snow'. 'This is great' I sigh contentedly. 'Yeah' Elise agrees, 'one of your better ideas, guys'. Diana smiles wickedly. 'I agree, this was heaps of fun. But since it was your idea, and it's your mess, I guess you're cleaning up' she says smugly. Everyone laughs in agreement and quickly hurries out of the room. 'Night, guys!' they chorus innocently.

I look at Rebekah. 'Do you like this snow?' I ask her seriously. 'Yes' she replies, dead-pan.

'Do you have any problem with this snow? I question. 'No, not at all' she says, grinning as she understands what I'm getting to.

'Does this snow need to go?' I rhyme. 'No!' we shout in unison.
