Chapter Seven: Dumbledore's Army
Eleanor was leaving the library and making her way towards Great Hall for a quick bite before resuming studying. There more students walking towards the entrance courtyard of Hogwarts, confusing the Ravenclaw. She followed where the crowd was headed and immediately recognized a blonde boy slowly taking his time. It was strange for Eleanor to see Draco Malfoy alone and without his Slytherin friends. She caught up to him and walked next to him.
"Malfoy! Do you know what's going on?" She asked him. Among the chatting students, Draco couldn't a hear a word that the small brunette told him.
"What?" He leaned down so that his head was at the same height as his.
"Do you know what's going on?" She asked again.
"Something about Professor Trelawney, I think." Draco answered, and stood up back up. They walked together and found a spot to stand. Eleanor's heart broke at the sight. Filch was stacking up all of Trelawney's bags and dropping them at her feet. Umbridge then came outside, with the sicking smile on her face. Eleanor felt tears prick her eyes. She stopped taking Divination, but Trelawney had often times had Eleanor a cup of tea when she was overwhelmed by her other classes.
Professor Trelawney looked weakly at the other student before stumbling towards Umbridge. "Sixteen years I've lived and taught here. Hogwarts is my home. You can't do this." Her lips were quivering, as tears forming in her eyes. Eleanor couldn't stand to watch. She made a step forward, but as she did, a hand clasped around her wrist and slowly pulled her back. Draco's hand went from her wrist to her hand, entwining there hands, pulling her so that her back was against his chest. Eleanor gripped Draco's hand tight.
Umbridge pulled out a paper and nodded her head, "Actually, I can." Numerous students had their head down so that they would not have to see what was happening.
Professor Mcgonagall pushed her way through the crowd and went over to comfort Trelawney. Mcgonagall was not fond of the Divination Professor, but her hatred for Umbridge was greater.
"Something you'd like to say?" Umbridge asked, looking at Mcgonagall with a distasteful look in her eyes.
"Oh, there are several things I would like to say." Mcgonagall patted Trelawney's head soothingly. It was odd to have majority of the students here and all being quiet. Some were crying, others just looked on, knowing how powerless they were. The doors opened as the students who were near the entrances of Great Hall parted. This is was the first time anyone has seen Dumbledore outside of his office. He was present during dinners, but that was it. Dumbledore stood there silently as he made his way towards the middle.
"Professor McGonagall, might I ask you to escort Sybil back inside?" Dumbledore looked mad. No one had ever seen the Headmaster angry until now. Mcgonagall nodded her head, escorting Trelawney back into castle. Students were now staring at the what would happen between Umbridge and Dumbledore.
