True love is the greatest adventure and I love adventures.
"You look stunning, Maggs." I gasp wistfully to Maggie while she stands in front of the full length mirror in her bridal dress.
I am wearing a lavender and black strapless dress that Maggie picked for her bridesmaids.
"So do you, Alexis dear. Now enough of the formalities. Tell me what's bothering you." She asks, cutting straight to the point. Her blonde hair sway slightly as she turns to look at me pointedly.
That's how it has always been, one look at me and she knew I needed help. I am never scared to let her save me either. So I tell her everything about everything.
"When I met William I realised nothing is scribbled on stone. Everyone needs someone and sometimes people don't realise this until they've met the right one. You're trying to figure out if you want to fall. Darling, life is all about the falling. In the end, you just have to do whatever feels right in your heart." She tries to reassure me, holding out her hands to give me a motherly hug.
"But Maggs, you know me. What if I regret giving in, regret falling?" I ask worriedly, a billion doubts running in my head, making me overthink every little thing.
"You are right, I do know you. Your whole life you've been looking to be free. Everyone has to sacrifice something to attain freedom, but it isn't the one person you may actually love, Lexis." She places a gentle hand on my cheek. "You don't want to be restrained, that's all. Right now, you're doing that yourself though. Let your emotions out, let them find their canvas to fill, let go and you'll be free." She spreads her arms. "I think he's the right choice. He lets you have your freedom. He didn't try to blindside your decision even when he knew there was a possibility he may lose you forever. Stop over thinking every detail and let your feelings get the better of you. Make mistakes, that's what actual living is all about. Love him, love him like he's your last chance." Maggie finishes passionately, her blue eyes sparkling bright with love.
I feel like such a bad person for saying this, but I am jealous of her glow. I want that for myself, the pure bliss, the luck to face struggles and hard times with someone else by my side.
I know I'm only 17 and much too young to be discussing love, but I'm not gonna pass up on a chance to find it just because of my age.
I hug Maggie and tell her how happy I am for her to have finally found her last chance again. She deserves it and much more.
"Oh. My. God. Look at you Maggie! Gorgeous! I'm freaking out. You are getting married! Fuckin married for god's sake." My best friend is already out of breath as she enters the room practically jumping up and down.
Alexius followed Jenna into the room and is now gently hugging her from behind. "Calm down, woman. Jeez, it's her wedding. You'll scare her away, gem. I'm so sorry for my girlfriend's behaviour, Miss. Wright. Sometimes she can go a little..."
"Crazy? I know that already, it's no problem, your Highness and please just call me Maggie, after all I'm no longer going to be Miss Wright in a short while." She blushes at the end of her sentence. I feel so happy to see her in love.
"Yes, congratulations on your wedding, Maggie. You can call me Alexius." He replies politely.
"Big brother! You came." I step forward, push Jenna aside playfully and give him a tight hug which he returns with equal fervour. I never knew how good it feels to have a sibling until I found my own.
"Of course I did, princess. It's good to see you. Archer came with us too, but I have no idea where that boy suddenly disappeared to." He says, looking around like he expects Archer to jump out of the closet or something.
