"Come on let's go!!" Kai said eagerly while walking over to the cars.
We had just finished packing up our camping spot so we could head up to one of the cabins not far from the camp site, Brooke's family own one of them so we decided it would be best to go and stay there after what happened last night.
Brooke called her family to let them know we were going to be using it, it was our only other option if we wanted to stay and have a relaxing time... that's why we came out here in the first place, so we wanted to enjoy it.
I walk over to Kai and ask him "Is Brooke okay?"
"I haven't the slightest clue" he said as he watched her get into the drivers seat.
"I don't think she should be driving" I mutter to him.
"Kai you drive her car, she can be the passenger, I'll take Jade" I say as I walk away from him.
"Hey! Jade!" I call out.
She turns her head "yeah??" She asked confused seeing Kai walk over to Brookes car.
"You're coming with me today, Kai will be driving instead of Brooke" I smile slightly to her.
"Oh... uh... okay then" she replied awkwardly as we made our way to my car.
I get in my car and Jade follows close behind, I watch Brooke get out of the drivers seat and go to the passenger side looking kind of annoyed.
I look over to Kai who looked a little out of sorts and it seemed like he let out a big sigh.
Kai turned his head to my direction, shrugged then got in and drove off.
I followed Brookes car up to the cabin site.
Once we arrive we start unpacking and set up our new sleeping arrangements.
The rest of the day we relax on the couch and settle in.
"Omg" Brooke sat up.
We all look at her confused.
"We were supposed to go to the lake today.." she seemed sad.
"Hey it's okay there's always tomorrow" Jade reminds her.
"I suppose you're right" she slowly leans back down into the couch.
Jade gets up and makes her way to the kitchen, "I'm going to start making dinner".
"I'll help" I get up and go with her to the kitchen.
Brooke and Kai walk out to the porch and go sit down at the outside table and start chatting.
"I hope Brooke doesn't feel too bad that this camping trip dingy turn out like she had hoped" I sigh.
"I'm sure she'll be fine as long as we continue to have fun with each other from here on out" Jade reassures me.
"I just don't want her being to hard on herself, you know how she gets"
"Don't worry so much Lily, we'll make sure she sees that we're still enjoying ourselves, we're going to the lake tomorrow to relax are we not?"
"Fair point I suppose".
~time skip~
We arrive at the lake and it's a massive lake, it's surrounded by huge trees and there are some mountains in the distance, it's absolutely beautiful.
Kai spends the first 30 minutes taking as many landscape photos as he can.
Brooke, Jade and myself set up a small area for ourselves to relax, have a small picnic then go for a swim and have some fun together.
We really needed a day away from the camping site to relax after what we had been through the past couple of days.
The sun was shining, there was barely any wind, it was a nice calm day.
We all enjoyed relaxing in the sun and eating the small picnic we put together.
"Come on let's go swim for a bit" Kai suggests as he starts pulling Brooke and I up off the picnic blanket.
"Alright alright, we're coming" I say as I laugh at his actions.
The water wasn't too hot and wasn't too cold, it was the perfect temperature for swimming.
Every now and then I felt like we were being watched and I would look out over to where our blanket was and then to the surrounding trees.
Maybe I'm just imagining things and I'm still paranoid after last night.
I try to push my feelings aside and enjoy the lake to the best of my ability, I don't want to ruin the day for everyone else.
