No one moved a muscle.

No one dared to make a sound.

No. One. Did. Anything.

We all stayed silent and still for what felt like forever, too scared to even look at each other.

The once peaceful rain now sounded like bullets hitting the cabin. The wind also started to pick up and the surrounding trees were thrashing around harshly outside, the cabins electricity was flickering on and off, until eventually the light stayed off, we couldn't do anything.

After some time I finally found the courage to move my head and look outside at the chaos surrounding us, it was dark, foggy and wet.

The more I looked out the window the more cold and scared I felt.

"G..guys... what's... hap... happening" I stutter.

Jade looked at me in the eyes with regret, "I'm so sorry I.. I thought... it didn't... didn't attach itself... to you".

I felt my heart drop, the thing is attached to me, it's living off of me and with me.

My head started to spin and pound in pain, I started to lose control of my senses, my vision started going blurry, my hearing was getting more and more muffled, I felt my body starting to numb.

My friends were terrified and started running to my aid, I saw their mouths moving but I couldn't hear any words.

I start hearing the same whispers as I had been hearing this whole time except this time I was able to hear the words clearly.

"Such a fighter"

I looked towards the window and faintly saw the figure standing outside in the rain... in the darkness...

"It... it's outside" I barely utter out.

I see all their heads turn to look outside and I collapse and everything started to drift away from me, I had no more sense of reality, I was going in and out of consciousness unable to react.

....

I've lost all control of my body, it feels as if it's no longer in my possession... It was no longer my property...

I feel my eyes being forced open by an unknown force, I am laying on the floor in the middle of the cabin.

I feel my body start to stand, it feels like I'm floating, I cannot feel my feet touching the floor but they were, my whole body felt numb and unknown to me, the thing had taken my body yet I'm still seeing everything as if it were me in control.

I've lost the ability to talk...

I've lost the ability to hear...

This body is no longer mine...

I look at my friends faces and just silently sob not being able to tell them how much I love them and how much they mean to me and unable to hear the words I can see how desperately they want me to hear from them.

"I'm okay" leaves my mouth, but I wasn't the one who said it.

The panic on their faces makes me want to hug them and tell them everything is going to be okay... even if it's not.

"I'm okay" keeps leaving my lips and I can see they all start to relax a little, but I'm not the one speaking to them.

*snap*

The sound of a twig breaking fills my ears.

....

It's in the cabin....

I try to gain control of my body so I can warn them but it feels like I'm trapped in a metal cage with no oxygen unable to free myself.

*snap*

I hear it again..

"Fun" the figure whispers.

A flash of lightening from the storm lights up the room for a split second and I see the figure standing in the corner of the pitch black room.

I try to scream but my screams are being suppressed.

The figure starts to make its way towards us, coming out from hiding in the shadows of the room.

This is the first time I was able to have a clearer look at the figure.

It was tall, black and skinny, it had really long fingers and a somewhat of a short torso, it walked as if it had a small hunch in its back, it had long feet and a long face.
It only had eyes and a mouth, the nose was missing, the eyes were human like but the mouth was shark like, it had many rows of sharp teeth.

I kept trying to warn my friends as it got closer but the more I tried, the more constricted I started to feel in my own body, the more I resisted, the more strangled I felt.

All I could do was watch as it got closer...

And closer...

And.... closer....
