When I woke up the next day Jade was already awake, she seemed really drained and tired, I sat up in my sleeping bag and turned towards Jade who was in the other room of the tent.

"Morning" I whispered to her.

"Oh... morning..." she replied groggily.

We sat in silence for a bit before I decided to get dressed.

"I'm going to go sit outside in the sun for a bit, when the others get up we should go for a walk down by the river" I whisper to Jade as I leave the tent.

The sun was shining high, I felt the warm, cosy, bright sun on my skin.

I walked over to the edge of the river bank and looked out across the river just watching the water flow.

It was like I was in a trance, the wind started to pick up and it was like all my senses got turned off except my hearing, all I could hear was the water flowing downstream, the actual visual of the river went blurry as my eyes unfocused I didn't realise until Brooke called out to me.. at first her voice was muffled, it was like my hearing was selectively choosing not to focus on her.

The water started to sound like faint whispers but I couldn't make out what the words were.

"Lily... Lily... Lily" I could hear her briefly calling my name even though it was muffled, I couldn't focus on her voice... it was almost like something wasn't letting me.

"Lily!" Brooke placed her hand on the shoulder, her touch brought me out of my trance.

"Oh sorry... you're awake" I awkwardly rub my neck feeling the small hairs standing up like how cats hair stands up when on high alert.

"I've been awake for awhile, I was calling out to you... are you okay? You seem a bit off" she asks as I turn to her.

I just stand still confused about what just happened.

Brooke looks directly into my eyes, her brown eyes fixated on my blue ones, looks of concern can be seen in them.

"Oh um yeah... I'm all good sorry I uh must have zoned out" I say stuttering slightly and my face starts to fill with colour.

"If you say so... well are you ready?" She smiles, our eyes still locked on one other, she still has concern in her eyes.

"Ready for what?"

"The.. walk... you suggested it" she cocked her head.

"Are you sure you're okay?" I turn my head away from her gaze.

"Yeah I'm fine I promise, let's go on the walk" I show her a slight smile.

"Wait!" I raise my voice.

Brooke turn around to face me.

"Are you alright? Last night you seemed..." I try to find the proper words.

"Oh don't worry about it, I think I just had too much to drink, I'm feeling much better today" she smiled happily.

We all walk slowly down by the river enjoying the fresh air, the flowers, the trees, the river, the small pebbles, the sky, just everything in that moment seemed perfect. The walk ended up going for an hour and a half.

The walk was calming and soothing, we stayed quiet for most of the walk, just letting go completely.

When we arrive back at camp Jade goes and serves us up lunch.

Kai and I stuffed our faces until we felt sick.

"Oh my god, I think I'm going to have a food baby" Kai says through heavy breathes as he walks over to his camping chair.

"I think we over ate" I reply with my legs dangling over my camping chairs arm.

"I honestly can't believe how much you two can eat" Brooke shakes her head at us.

"Oh shut up, you wish you could eat like us fat asses" I smirk at her.

She rolls her eyes at me, stands up and walks over to me.

"I'm happy with the amount of food I'm able to eat because at least I don't have to worry about stomach pains" she walks away proudly and makes her way over to the tent.

I sat there in shock, my stomach starts to cramp, I let out a small burp.

"Anyway I think we should walk down by the river and night sometime, not as far or for as long, just a quick stroll along the river at night, we could even take some pictures" Brooke turns back around to Kai and I.

"I'm down for that, I'd enjoy a night stroll" I give her a thumbs up.

"How about tonight?" Jade says walking out of the tent.

Kai and I just show them both a thumbs up as we fall into a food coma.

"Those two should never be allowed to eat that much, look at them they refuse to move, they are acting like they are about to explode" Brooke whispers to Jade.

"It's not my fault, I can't control how much those two pigs eat", they both laugh.

~time skip~

"Are you excited?" I ask Jade as I dry the wet dishes Jade passes me.

"Excited for... what??" She passes me a plate.

"The walk dummy"

"Oh right that, yes I'm excited I suppose" she shrugs.

"You suppose?"

"Well it's just like a normal walk but instead at night" she passes me a wet bowl.

"You're no fun, I'm so excited, I've never gone on a night walk before, let alone a night walk down by a river!"

"Aren't you the one who goes camping the most out of all of us though" she turns her head to me.

"Well yeah, but usually at night we just hang around the campfire and just talk, play games, things like that, we've never gone for a walk, well not a proper night walk anyway" I smile as I continue drying the wet dishes.

"What do you mean by proper walk" she quotes the words 'proper walk' with her fingers.

"We've walked up to an open paddock and then star gazed, but it wasn't that far so it wasn't a real night walk" I dry the last dish.

"Come on let's put some shoes on and some warm clothing!!" I run off to get changed ready for the walk.

Jade sighs and giggles as she follows me.
