The next few days were spent quite productively, except for the frequent make out sessions of Marlene and Sirius, which the rest of them frequently walked in on. Their week went somewhat like this.

Monday

"Good Morning class! Today we'll do something quite interesting, and complicated too. The charm I will be telling you is used to fight off dementors. Upon casting this spell, something...um- that can be explained as your spirit animal will emerge. Now remember, you have to caste your patronus while thinking about your happiest memory. The movement is swish, swish and flick. The incantation is Expecto Patronum."chimed professor Flitwick, their charms teacher.

The whole class was in awe of whatever he was saying. "Now go on. Start trying. Don't stare at my faces like a bunch of toddlers." he urged.

The whole class split up. The incantation was being muttered at every corner of the classroom.

No one so far had conjured their patronus. Lily had tried conjuring it quite a few times now and was at the brink of giving up.

Her eyes caught James staring at her, a huge grin spread across his face, clearly not trying to practice the charm Flitwick wanted them to.

She walked up to him and smacked him on the side of his head.

"Hey! What was that for?" he retorted, rubbing the side of his head, where Lily had smacked him.

"That was for you not paying attention in class" she replied.

"I did pay attention in class, besides I know how to conjure a patronus." he explained.

"Oh yeah? Show me then" she said, crossing her arms over her chest, waiting for him to conjure the patronus.

He closed his eyes for a few minutes and chanted the spell- "EXPECTO PATRONUM".

Within seconds a beautiful stag appeared from the tip of his wand. The whole class turned around in awe.

"Oh look! Mr. Potter has done it" exclaimed Flitwick. "Twenty five points to Gryffindor" he said, before the shooing the class away.
*********
"How'd you do it?" asked Lily, shocked. She had always been better at Charms than him.

"Just think about your most happy memory you have. A powerful one".

"And what was yours?" she asked.

"Our first kiss" he said, his cheeks turning red. Lily stopped to look at him, then threw her arms around him.

Tuesday

Tuesday was like any other day.

Lily and James had stayed up late that night after patrolling.

Lily woke up ten minutes before her class started and had to use "Augmenti"- a charm that she was forced to use on her boyfriend, since he refused to get up and go to class.

They returned back exhausted.

Lily spent time with her friends, Marlene continuously talking about how great Sirius was, and Alice talking about Frank and how he had invited her over for Easter.

James left for Quidditch practice and came back late at night, to see Lily fast asleep in her room, books sprawled all over her bed.

He cleared the bed, arranging all the books on her desk, in alphabetical order, just the way Lily liked it and snuggled back in with her, spooning her in and enveloped her in a warm embrace before drifting off to sleep.
