THE PERFECT SON

"Sirius Orion Black" said Lily impatiently. "Hurry up mate, your hair looks fine" said James, putting a hand over Lily's shoulder. They were going to Potter manor for Christmas and since Sirius too lived there he decided to go with them. "My hair looks perfect now. Lets go" said Sirius, emerging from his room, stroking his black locks. "Finally" said Lily and dragged Sirius and James and boarded Hogwarts Express. 

The ride was like any normal ride. James and Sirius goofing around like complete idiots and Lily falling asleep on James's shoulder an hour later. They reached Kings Cross station at half past five and apparated to Potter Manor. They found Blinky waiting for them and took their coats from them, hanging them in the closet. She led them to the kitchen and served them with piping hot dinner and the three of them ate in silence. At around nine Lily was tossing and turning in bed. She kept eyeing the door to see if James would walk in and join her. An hour passed by and he was no where to be seen. She slowly walked up to his room, smiling at Blinky as she passed by her and opened the door to peek in. He wasn't there. She frowned, as she turned around to knock on Sirius's door and it flung open. 

"Lily Flower you do know this isn't your boyfriends room, and I have changed my ways you know" he grinned. "Shut up Black. Where is James ?". "Isn't he with you?" asked Sirius surprised. Lily shook her head, "I thought he was with you". Sirius shook his head too, "What about Blinky? He catches up with her sometimes?". "No, I saw her while coming here, she was alone". "Well he did tell me he wants to take a walk in the garden - you know- get some fresh air and all" he said. Lily had no reason or any other option to not believe him so she ran to the garden, an unknown fear taking over her. Sirius followed. They took a walk around the garden hoping to find James, but there was no tall, messy black haired boy in sight. They walked back inside. "Hey, I'm sure he'll come back. I'll keep a lookout for him" he assured and sent her up. But Lily couldn't fall asleep. 

The next day when she walked down stairs dressed,  she found that Sirius too hadn't slept the whole night and was waiting up for James when an owl came in,she the Black family crest on the on the seal of the letter and looked at Sirius, "Open it" she said reassuringly. He did and with growing horror read the letter. "NO! NOOOO!" he yelled before walking to the fireplace, picking up a handful of floo powder on his way and yelled Black Manor before throwing the powder over him and disappearing. Lily looked confused and shocked at the scene she had just witnessed and picked up the letter Sirius had slammed down on the table. 

Dear Sirius, 

I am pleased to say that your younger brother has yet again proved that he is the true heir to the Black family by joining the death eaters. Yesterday he was be christened with the dark mark. And to his delight his first task for the Dark Lord involved that filthy blood traitor friend of yours. He was placed outside Potter Manor to watch over the activities of the house when he saw you, your blood traitor friend and that mudblood girlfriend of his go inside. So when that friend of yours was taking a stroll in his perfectly manicured garden, your perfect brother lured him out of the comfort and safety of his home from where he was picked up by your sisters Bellatrix and Narcissa. So in the end, I want to say, your new family the Potters, are, no more.

Lily grew week. She felt tears well up her eyes, her knees grew weak and the letter slipped through her fingers. She took support of the table in front of her and Blinky came to her support, gently tugging her hand and pulling her down to make sure she was sitting down. Then she rushed to kitchen and within minutes a huge cup of hot chocolate was placed in front of her. "Thank you Blinky" she said forcing a smile. "That's not a problem miss. But, if I may ask, what happened to Master James?". Lily looked into her big black orbs and decided that Blinky too deserved to know the truth. With a heavy heart she explained everything to Blinky and at the end broke down. Blinky reluctantly sat down on the table beside her and put her hand on Lily's shoulder comforting her. A few minutes passed by when Sirius climbed out of the fire place. "Sirius where did you go?", "My house" he replied angrily. "So, is it true? Regelus took James?". Sirius nodded. "Yes. Mother was so proud. So proud her son was a death eater. So proud that he abducted James. I'm sorry Lily" he said, calming down. "No. No. It's not your fault" she said sitting down and Sirius joined her.
