" Our own dorm ? I get to share a dorm with Lily Evans ? The Lily Evans? And Dumbledore said there's a kitchen !" thought James as he felt his heart flutter at the thought of sharing a dorm with Lily.

They walked in silence. "Are you the Head Boy and Head Girl? ".

The voice pulled him out of his thoughts, as he turned to realise that they had stopped in front of Ms. Mary's portrait. Lily nodded instinctively, as she turned to James , " Soooo, what do you reckon the password should be ?" she asked, her emerald eyes looking straight into his.

" Amare? Its the Latin for love " he said, shrugging his shoulders as he ran his fingers through his thick black hair.

Lily looked at him for a second, opened her mouth to say something, but seemed to decide against it.

" Sounds good" she said, now turning to the portrait, "The password's Amare " .

Ms. Mary nodded and swung forward permitting them to enter. The Heads dorm was more like a common room.

A huge couch in the centre adorned with soft and fluffy pillows , with a soft velvet rug thrown over it elegantly. There were two desks on either side of the room. The one to the right had all of Lily's school things already assembled. James looked at the desk to his right to see his things assembled on the desk too.

There was a flight of stairs, on either side of the couch, leading to two rooms. One with Lily's name engraved upon it, and the other with James's name.

James immediately recognised it to be Dumbledore's elegant, cursive handwriting and felt a rush of affection towards his headmaster. He opened his door to reveal a room fit for the Head Boy - the walls painted a gentle shade of maroon, his trunk already in the room, walls plastered with his favourite Quidditch team's posters and a bed fit for a king.

From behind him, Lily let out a gasp. She had seen her room too.

James turned around to see from the entrance of his room, Lily's room painted a shade of emerald, a soft canopy bed, waiting to be slept in.

They both examined their rooms, and walked down. Only Lily seemed to have spotted the kitchen, and walked towards it. With a hint of curiosity James followed, to see a kitchen, spotless, a supply of beacon, bread, cheese, vegetables, fruits, beverages and desserts waiting to be eaten. There was a wash basin, the tap engraved with a lion, badger, eagle and a snake.

There was no doubt about it, James and Lily were in awe.

Lily looked at James, and smiled, a true, wide smile. " This is amazing " she exclaimed, and James couldn't help laughing at her child like grin.

" Well if I am Head Boy, I do expect some standards Evans. Didn't you?" he asked playfully.

Lily looked at him happily, her eyes filled with joy as she laughed, shaked her head and walked to the hall. James felt his whole body tingle with joy, butterflies in his stomach and could't help but laugh too.

He walked back, plopping down on the couch beside Lily. They sat there in silence, immersed in their own thoughts as James got up, looked at her and said

" Good Night Evans! See you tomorrow". Lily watched him climb the fleet of stairs, when he turned around. "Oh and Evans, do me a favour and try not to make a racket in the morning" he said as he saw Lily smile back, embarrassed as she understood what he meant.

Two years ago, Lily had woken up early in the morning, intent and practising a few charms, instead waking up half the house by making sure all the Gryffindor trophies fall down, making hell of a racket.
