"Ready to go babe". James's voice drifted into Lily's ears as she was just finishing writing a letter to Dorea.

Lily and Dorea had been writing back and forth to each other, more than Sirius and Dorea, for the past two weeks.

"Yep" she beamed.

They were on their way to the Prefects meeting.

Dumbledore had announced last week that Hogwarts would be hosting the Yule Ball, though there was no Triwizard Champion that year.

The ball was merely being held for fun and the tedious task of organising the ball was assigned to the Prefects, headed by the Head Boy and Head Girl.

"Is the Ball strictly mudblood proof" sneered Bellatrix for what seemed like the hundredth time.

"I swear Bellatrix, once more you say that I would be more than happy to assign detention and deduct points from Slytherin. Oh and not to mention, hex you into oblivion for calling my girlfriend -your Head Girl and hundreds of other muggle born witches and wizards a foul name such as mudblood" spat James, anger flaring in his eyes.

Lily did nothing but put her hand on his shoulder so as to calm him down after his spectacular speech.

They ushered the Prefects out of the classroom, reminding them once again to begin preparations at once.

James and Lily then finished patrolling the school, finding yet again their beloved friends Sirius and Marlene in a more than comfortable position on the floor of the Astronomy Tower.

After shooing them away they returned back to their own dorm and settled onto the couches for some alone time of their own.

They spent hours talking about Merlin knows what.

They walked back to Lily's room where she settled in close to James.

They snuggled in as close as they could to feel warm, in the chilly months of October.

Lily opened her eyes, to see a fast asleep James in front of her.

She smiled as she climbed out of bed and picked up a towel from her trunk and decided to go and take a bath.

She returned after ten minutes, drying her wet hair. It was a Saturday, and Lily had decided to let James sleep in.

"Come back" groaned James, as his arms cut through the air in a desperate attempt to catch hold of her.

"James it's ten-"

"I don't care it's a Saturday and we, Lily Evans are sleeping in. ".

Lily decided against arguing and climbed back in.

"Much better" he said as he tightened his hold around her waist and leaned in to kiss her.

Lily greeted him back with a kiss. They snuggled in bed for another hour, before Lily forced James out of bed and into the bath.

"Ah! Mr.Potter, Ms.Evans, I hear the preparations are going on in full swing. Minerva speaks highly of both of you. Although she does recount the bitter event of her losing five galleons in our bet."

James and Lily smiled at Dumbledore's words.

"I must thank both of you for it. But you must appreciate my skill of observation, I had a bet with Minerva in your- um fourth year, I believe, that both of you would make a quite a pair. And indeed you did. Bless you" he said before walking away.

James and Lily looked at each other and burst into peals of laughter.

They pushed open the doors to the Great Hall to see that all the prefects were already busy with decorations.
