The small tap of her boots echoed across the marble floor. Her hands were clenched into fists at her side. She took deep breaths to keep from crying. She was leaving home- her only home, and she didn't have anywhere to go or anyone to go with. How could the Jedi just turn their backs on her so quickly? After all the time she spent there.
"Ahsoka!" Ahsoka heard Anakin calling her, but she didn't want to turn around. Ahsoka couldn't stand to see his face. She had failed him. Ahsoka stepped up her pace, and Anakin broke into a jog. "Ahsoka!! Stop! I need to talk to you!" Ahsoka dug her nails into her palms, took a deep breath, stopped walking, and turned around. In his eyes, she saw confusion, betrayal, sadness, and anger. She couldn't bare to look in his eyes anymore. Ahsoka glanced the at shiny marble floor, and vaguely saw her reflection. Her eyes were red, and she felt them filling with tears. Don't cry. Don't cry. "What are you doing?" Anakin cried.
"I can't go back." Ahsoka muttered. "The Jedi order is your life! You can't just throw it away!" Anakin spat. The last time Ahsoka had seen him this upset, was when Master Obi Wan faked his death. She remembered going to a diner with him, and forcing him to eat, since he hadn't in days. Ahsoka remembered him breaking down, and he wasn't alright until he knew Obi Wan was okay. She didn't want to cause him similar pain, but Ahsoka knew she already had. "It's not my life anymore. The Jedi didn't trust me, so how can I trust myself?" Anakin put his hand on her shoulder.
"I trust you!!" Anakin whimpered desperately.Ahsoka couldn't take it anymore. She fell to the ground and sobbed. So much for her plan to stay strong for Anakin. How could she let herself slip like this? Was she making a mistake? Anakin moved next to her and put his hand on her shoulder. His fingers were smooth and comforting on her shoulder. She didn't want to leave, but she had to. It wasn't an option anymore. A pool of water lay at her feet, Anakin and her tears combined. Ahsoka finally took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry Anakin I'm not staying." All hope drained from his face. He collapsed onto his elbows and looked at the ground, the anger and pain returning.
"Alright." He said. "I'm coming with you."
