Anakin waited in the hanger for Ahsoka to come back from the senate building. He was excited. This mission would get him away from Corasaunt for awhile, and he would be serving by Ahsoka again. Nothing could make him happier. "Anakin!" She entered the hanger with Bo Katan close behind. He smiled even wider at her entry. "I have another surprise for you..." he said. Two doors slid open and a battalion of clones came out. "This is the 332nd legion." The clones had all painted their helmets to match Ahsoka's intricate facial markings. She froze in shock. The clones stood at attention. After a minute or so she walked in between the rows of clones examining each of their helmets with admiration. Ahsoka found Rex at the front of the battalion. "Glad to have you back, Commander!" "Thank you Rex, but you don't have to call me commander anymore." "Sure thing. Commander." He winked at her and she smiled. All of the sudden alarms started to chime and Obi Wan ran into the room, sweat beaded on his forehead. "We need to board the cruisers immediately!" "So the mission to Mandalore was approved?" he asked. "No it's Corasaunt. Chancellor Palpatine has been captured." Shock fell over Anakin's face. "What about Ahsoka?" Bo Katan was staring angrily at them. "The council has suggested that you promote Rex to commander and send Ahsoka as an advisor." Obi Wan said. "What about me? I need to be there with her!" Anakin yelled. "Anakin I need you! Ahsoka can take care of herself!" Anakin looked at her. She crossed her arms waiting for a decision to be made. He couldn't let her go. His dreams... he couldn't leave her-. "I'll promote Rex to commander." he said quietly. "And Rex can go with Bo Katan." "What about me?" Ahsoka asked. "Can I talk to you. In private." Obi Wan looked at him suspiciously. "Hurry Anakin." He turned and left. He grabbed Ahsoka's hand and pulled her behind a column.
"You're not going." "Anakin, Bo Katan needs me! I thought you would understand! I'm not doing anything you wouldn't do." Ahsoka yelled. "Ahsoka I can't lose you and Maul is powerful! I could never face myself if I didn't go and he killed you." Ahsoka put her hand on his face. "Anakin I can do this. And if you take care of Grevious and Dooku this war can be over." Anakin knew she was right. But he couldn't let his nightmares come true. He had to protect her. "Ahsoka- I can't-" "What is going on with you? You've seemed happy enough but something is bothering you. Don't think I didn't sense your fear last night. What is going on!?" He knew he couldn't avoid telling her. "I've been having dreams... about you... dying. I need to protect you. I can't let that happen and I won't. I promise you." "Anakin I can take care of myself." I'm going to be fine." he nodded his head. She looked around and when no one was looking she leaned in and kissed him. Anakin put his arm around her waist and pulled her in closer. She ran her fingers through his hair. After a minute or so she pulled away. "Good luck Skyguy. I love you." "I love you too Snips." She looked into his eyes one more time before turning around to find Rex. Anakin saw that his star fighter was prepped and he went to climb in. He took one last look at Ahsoka, who was boarding a gunship with Rex. He knew she could handle Maul but he worried he would never see her again.
