Chapter 11: Advance birthday

Ryan's POV

I grabbed her hand and took her away from him. No matter how much I don't want to accept, my brother was no less than a monster. I was hundred percent sure he was looking for benefits from Annika.

She stopped and pulled me backwards resulting in me almost falling. This girl is super strong, I must admit.

I turned back and looked at an angry face. "What do you think you're doing?" she asks scowling. How on earth am I supposed to say that my brother is most likely after her for benefits. I looked down and searched for words. Annika wasn't in a mood to give me much time right now.

"He's just not nice." I said and she raised an eyebrow. She shook her head and looked at her watch. "I'm running late. I need details later." She said and walked ahead but stopped after 4 steps. "That is if you are comfortable in sharing them." she said as the corner of my lips went up.

"I know." I said and went to her. We walked to our next class.

I didn't under why Noah was here. I mean I did. He knew Annika was important to me. That's why he's here, but what on earth will he do? I was scared to even think of the possibilities.

I needed to stay a step ahead of him.

Annika's POV

Honestly, I was in no place to expect explanations from him. I didn't even know if I love him in a platonic way or what. It was confusing and I didn't want to think of it.

I didn't know he had a brother. Again, why would he tell me? My insecurities were slowly creeping back and I didn't like it. I didn't want to be an unsafe place for my own thoughts again.

Ryan was somewhere else mentally during the class. And day by day, more girls were eyeing at him. I wouldn't be shocked if starts getting proposals now.

The class ended and we parted ways for the day. I didn't like college for this very reason. You have to be with different people in every class. My highschool was not that way. We had the same peers throughout the year. We had a weird education system I must say.

I took the last seat and opened a new novel I bought last week as the teacher didn't arrive yet.

The Da Vinci Code

The letters read. I started it and loved it so far. I was engraved in it when I heard someone sat beside me. The new guy. He smiled and then I observed he was nothing like Ryan. They had absolutely no common features. I gave him a tiny smile and continued my book.

"Noah." he spoke out. I nodded as the professor came. He started teaching mathematics. I didn't like the subject even a bit, but my father insisted I study it too.

Noah had his eyes on me the whole time and I felt really unconformable. I didn't say anything considering he was Ryan's brother. Ryan clearly didn't like him but I had my manners.
