"Welcome to Random Fandoms. How may I help you?" I asked without looking up from my button sorting.

"I figured I might help you. I have no other thing to do with my life." A boy's voice called.

"Lenny? I'm guessing Brent told you about our deal."

"Uh, yeah. Anyway, what do you want me to do?"

"Can you put those shirts away? I can't reach." Even if I tried to use the shelf next to the rack, I was too short. Annie always did the shirts and money, and I organized everything and kept it looking nice.

We worked in silence. Lenny was a naturally quiet person, unless he was with the team. I liked the silence, though. It let me think about my week, and everything that happened during it. Lenny put away shirts, bags, and made sure everything was in its proper place. I sorted through the buttons, comics, and lanyards.

I finished, and helped Lenny put the rest of the bags away.

"So, why are you here? I doubt you really have nothing better to do with your life than to torment girls." Lenny laughed.

"I can't play in the game today due to a sprained knee, so I thought I'd say hi." I looked at his leg. It was slightly swollen, and hastily wrapped up.

"Come over here, you wrapped your knee wrong." I muttered.

"No, I didn't. I know how to wrap an injured knee." Lenny peered at his leg, and reluctantly goes to sit on one of the couches.

I moved his basketball shorts out of the way, and unwrapped the bandage. I started poking around where it is most swollen, asking where exactly it hurt.

"Ah. There." When I got about an inch away from his real injury, he hissed in pain. I used that information to rewrap his knee, making sure it was neat and tight.

"How did you know how to do that so well?" Lenny admired his new bandage.

"One of my foster moms was a doctor. She taught me how to do basic first aid, and made me take a nursing class every summer from age 10-12." I smiled a little at the thought of my foster mom.
Her name was Sarah, and she was amazing. Her boyfriend, Tim, was a neurosurgeon, so me and my four foster siblings weren't starving or lacking anything. They kept us modest, and never let us flaunt our money or abilities. She was my favorite of the many foster parents, since she seemed like she actually cared about me. Alas, it didn't work out, since Sarah was pregnant, and since I was the oldest, it made sense to get rid of me first. Even though younger kids get adopted easier, I was the one that had to say goodbye to my younger brother, the two 5-year-old twin brothers, and year old baby sister.

"Anyway, Annie will be here soon, and after that, I am free. Wanna go do something? I am so bored." I smiled.

"Sure, I hear there's a new Marvel movie. It's based off of Reed and Susan Richard's son, Franklin. Apparently it's the bomb." I loved the comics with Franklin, so I was pumped.

"Well, it looks like the next showing is at 7:45, and it's only 5:00. We can go get dinner, and snacks."

"Snacks?"

"Movie theater prices are ridiculous. I always go to the grocery store, but cheap candy, and fill my special movie purse with candies and treats. That way, we only need to buy expensive popcorn and sodas." I explained, grabbing my large movie purse. It was slightly larger than most, so it didn't look too conspicuous.

"Well, now all we have to do is wait for Annie."

We talked some more, waiting for Annie, who was supposed to be back at about 5:20.

The bell on the front door rang, signaling a visitor. Annie used the back door, so I snapped to attention. "Welcome to Random Fandoms. How may I help you?" I asked, looking at the customer.

"Hello, Charlotte. How are you?"

(PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS. IT IS IMPORTANT.)
Not very dramatic, but I like it. More drama with the visitor in the next chapter. Who do you think it is?
Yay! Lovely cover on the side made by @fauxliampayne Thank you so much! I love it! If you have a cover or picture, or just want to talk, PM me or email me at runucleverboi@gmail.com
I really want this movie to be a thing. It probably won't, but a girl can dream.
Keep commenting. I love reading your thoughts and opinions.
BTW, do you still want the reference footnotes as comments, or should I stop? I haven't made as many references recently, but she has to act normal around the boys. They are (sadly) not humongous nerds.
Peace out, homies!

P.S. I love you. Even if you don't. So, yeah. Don't do anything you may regret, okay? Okay.
