She was running in a field of wildflowers. Gorgeous colors of all sorts painted the ground. Her hair flowed behind her, dancing in the wind. Birds chirped with happiness. The sun was a spotlight as she threw her arms out, and spun in circles. Her laugh echoing through the air, singing a beautiful melody. Her yellow sundress flapped as she jumped with joy. Her sandals flew through the air, landing with a small 'thump,' as she took off running again. She was free. With her arms stretched horizontal to her body, she weaved side to side. She was flying.

Another laugh joined, making her come to a stop. She turned with the widest smile and chuckled.

"Ally, are you having fun?"

She stared at Cain, and couldn't contain her joy.

"This is perfect Cain! You are amazing! This place... it's wonderful."

The boy in front of her laughed. "I thought of you as soon as I saw it. You belong here."

She smiled, and turned to take off again. Instead a set of arms wrapped around, spinning her in a circle. She kicked her legs, throwing her head back to squeal. Both of their laughs mingled with the bird's symphonies. It was magical.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, Cain let her go.

Then everything went wrong....

The bright blue sky turned dark and angry. The sun shrinked into the grey clouds. The wind was no longer one of comfort, but of fury. Hate. The birds were no longer chirping but screeching. Her hair whipped her face, obscuring her vision. She threw her arm up to protect her eyes, and turned to find Cain missing.

"Cain?" She tried to yell. Her voice never carried as thunder bellowed from the sky. She screamed as lightening struck a tree beside her, sending it crashing to the gound. The day was turning darker by the second. The skys opened up, as rain pelted down with vengeance.

"Cain?" She tried again. She was alone. The wildflowers were no longer bright. She looked closer and picked one up. The once beautiful petals were black and withered. A huge gust of wind threw her to the ground, sending the dead petals flying through the air. Her blood curdling scream echoed through the field as she saw another bolt of lightening hit the tree right above her.

She was scared, cold, wet, and alone. She threw her hands above her head and waited for impact.

Ally jolted awake. She was covered in sweat. Hair was plastered to her face, and her breathing was uneven. It was just a dream. She repeated to herself over and over again. But she knew in reality, it wasn't. It may have came in a dream, but in all honesty, it was a metaphor of her life.
