Chapter 1

Lily's POV

"So what's the story this time?" I asked, swinging into Emily's room through the window. "You know that you could do more things if you stopped getting grounded."

"I snuck out with Catlynn to go get ice cream and the only reason we were caught is because Jessica was there too."

"And I'm assuming you want me to bring someone over." 

"Comet wanted to watch Hamilton with me. Erika said she's old enough." She said, and I sighed. 

"I'll be back with Comet in less than an hour. When does Alex get back?"

"About 11. After the show. Jenny gets home around 7, so we have to have Comet out by 6."

"I should be paid to take care of you guys," I said, swinging out the door. Erika's apartment was only a few blocks over, so it was a fast walk over. I went up to the door and knocked.

Erika answered, "Hello, Lily! What can I do for you?"

"Can Comet hang out?"

"I'll check her homework load, why don't you come on in?" Comet's mom stepped aside and closed the door behind me. 

"Thanks," I stayed in the doorway as Erika walked deeper into the apartment.

I heard low voices from somewhere down the hallway, then footsteps. Comet appeared in the entry with Erika a few steps behind.

"Hey, Lily," Comet hugged me quickly, then started putting on her shoes.

"What are you two going to do?" Erika crossed her arms.

Comet glanced at me, then back at her mom, "We're just going to... watch a movie?"

Erika looked suspicious, but didn't say anything, "Be back before dark, okay, Meadowlark?"

"Yeah, Mom, okay," Comet stood up and grabbed her coat.

"Have fun, kids," Erika called as the door closed behind us and headed out of the apartment.

When we were on the street, Comet asked, "So where are we really going?"

"Em's."

Comet smirked, "Let me guess - she's grounded so she sent you?"

I tapped my nose, "Bingo." 

When we reached Em's apartment building, I helped Comet climb up the fire escape and through the window.

"I have brought you a child!" I announced, flopping down on the bed. Comet ran over to Em, hugging her tightly.

"Stop getting grounded. Mom would kill me if she found out I was here." Comet said to Em.

"But it loses the fun when there's no trouble!"

"Everyone shut up, the movie is starting!" I exclaimed, and the girls fell quiet. I knew Comet was going to ask questions, so I prepared myself for those.

"So that's Lafayette and that's Mulligan, right?" Comet asked during My Shot.

"Yep!"

"So do all three of the sister's like him?" Comet asked, and I nodded. "That's gross!" She exclaimed.

"They have a tall nine year old."

"Yes.

"Are Mariah and Peggy the same person?"

"They're played by the same person." Em said. Comet nodded, and stayed quiet until Your Obedient Servant.

"So are they friends?" She asked, and Em and I burst out laughing.

You have to wait and see." I said, laughing.

"Emily, I'm home!" Jenny called from the kitchen. 

All three of us looked at each other, chorusing an,

"Oh, crap."
