Em's POV

"How come I'm on a dancing show? I can't dance," I asked on the plane. Since we all knew each other, we were all on a private jet.  Lily was sitting next to me, Ryder and Brooklyn were in the back talking to each other, Cat was talking to all of her friends, and Comet was talking about her sister who went to college in Los Angeles and was going to meet us at the airport.

"It's for people who can't dance!" Lily exclaimed, excited and annoyed with me because I had been asking questions non-stop. The plane started going down and we all looked out the windows to see Los Angeles.

"I'm going to see Matilda, mom!" Comet exclaimed to Erika, jumping with joy. "I haven't seen her in forever!"

"It's been five months, Comet." Erika said, and Grey looked at Erika.

"Comet hasn't seen her sister in five months, and I haven't seen my daughter in five months, let us live," Grey, said, laughing.

The plane landed and stopped, and we all got out. There were a lot of people with cameras around us, asking us questions and taking pictures of us. The adults and Lily were ushering the younger ones away from the crowd. Even some of the older kids, Cat included, were clinging to their parents.

Matilda's POV

Dad texted me saying he was coming to L.A. to see me. My sister Comet and my ex-girlfriend Cat were on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, one of my favorite shows, and I couldn't wait to see them.

I was waiting outside the airport for Comet and Cat. Cat changed her appearance a lot, so I was worried she would look different.

But nope. When I saw her, it was the same short dirty blonde hair, same sweatshirt, same pair of Converse.

"Cat! Comet!" I cried, hugging them both. "Are you guys excited?" I asked, and they both nodded.

"I regret refusing to watch this show with you when we were dating," Cat said, hugging me.

"Aww. Any new girls I should know about?" I asked.

"Shut up!" Cat said. "Matt. We're in public!"

"And I'm your ex," I said, linking elbows with my sister. "How's my little sis doing? Are you excited?"

"Yeah! Dancing should be fun!"

"Both of you. Especially Comet. Don't kiss your partner." I said.

"Calm down! We won't!" I noticed my dad and ran up to him.

"Dad!" I said, hugging him.

"Hey, Mattie!" Dad said. I noticed that Cat came alone, and she was drumming her fingers on her legs. She did that sometimes when she was anxious.

"I missed you," I said to my dad. "So much. It feels lonelier without having a family." I look around, "Where's Barrett?"

Em ran up and hugged me, "She and Kerry got caught up in New York for a little while, they're catching a later flight."

"But they're coming?"

Dad kissed my head, "They wouldn't miss it for the world."

I lived on my college campus, but I couldn't exactly bring my entire crazy family to my tiny dorm room, so I brought the group to Ben's. And no, he wasn't expecting us.

"Where's Barrett and Kerry?" he asked once everyone had filed in.

From the kitchen, Ryder shouted, "Later flight - do you have any candy?"

"Ooh!" Em jumped up from the couch and joined Ryder.

"I don't have any candy," Ben told them.

Ryder's head poked out of the kitchen door, "Liar. Where is it? The back of the cupboard underneath the sink? Oh, I know, in the back of the fridge! Em, check the fridge!"

I listened as the sound of Em poking around in the fridge drifted from the kitchen into the living room. There was the sound of Em hitting something, followed by a soft, "Ow!" with a "GOT IT!" shortly after.

The rest of the night was quiet and filled with games and music and good food. Then, Dad turned on the TV.

"In the latest news, flight 3721 from JFK Airport in New York to LAX in Los Angelas has crashed just outside Pueblo, Colorado," All of us froze and looked at the TV, which showed video of a plane in wreck, "There are no confirmed fatalities, but we cannot expect that everyone survived -"

Andrew had the remote in his hand as he turned off the news.

"What was that for?" Oliver asked.

Andrew looked at Grey, then back to Oliver, "That's Barrett and Kerry's plane..."
