Chapter Nine-Part Three- The Final Breath

  "this is the final breath, Will. You should have given in when you had the chance." 

  The walls increased in speed every second. "We gotta go. NOW!" Mike roared as Will pulled Nick  to her feet and followed behind Mike. They ran as fast as they could, hoping to not get crushed by moving walls. "Do you know where you're going!?" Will shouted at Mike, who shook his head. 

  "I do!" Nick said as she pulled Will behind her and Mike followed, Nick leading the guys towards a large copper doorway. "The underworld vines are out there, that's how El escaped from the lab!" 

  Will and Mike pushed hard on the doors, hoping for it to unhinge while Nick formed fire balls in the palms of her hands. "We- we got it!" Will yelled, pulling Nick's arm and dragging her into the doors. Nick tumbled into Will's arms, both falling onto the slimly vines. "Get up! Get up!" Nick yelled, pulling Will up with her so that they wouldn't get stuck in the vines. 

  "Okay, okay. I'm up." Will muttered and wiped the little bit of dirt off his jacket, grabbing Nick's hand with his sweaty palms. "Sorry, just anxious."  

  "I don't mind. You're okay," She kissed his cheek and then followed Mike down the tunnel. "How much longer will this be before we retch the break point?" Mike questioned. "Just a little further down, we'll be there in a minute."

  "Where are they?!" El said anxiously.

  "They should be back by now!" Lucas cried as he put his head in his hands. 

  "What if they're lost or something, Hop?" Joyce said as she began to pace back and forth. "What if Nick can't protect them?" Joyce walked up to Hopper and grabbed his hands. "I can't lose my boy again." 

  "And you won't. They'll make it. I promise." Hopper said and hugged Joyce before walking over to the rest of the group. "They're gonna be okay guys, I know it." Then a red chevy raced up towards them, spraying dirt all over the place. Dustin hopped out of the backseat and raced up to a patch of dirt in the exact center of the pumpkin field. 

  "It should be right about... here!" Dustin stood on the patch of mud. Turning on his walkie-talkie. "Mike. Will! Do you copy. NiCk dO yOu CoPy!" Dustin roared. Steve ran over to him, planting a shovel into the moist ground, while Suzie placed a hand on Dustin's shoulder. 

  "We.... Cop-.......Dustin do you cop....." His walkie talkie screeched. "Guys. Guys!" 

  "Let me try." El said as she placed her hand out. Dustin nodded and handed the radio to her. She sighed and stood on the mud patch. "Mike. Do you copy." She said into the talkie, praying for an answer. "El? El is that you?" Mike's voice rang from the radio. She cried in relief. 

  "Yes. Yes it's me. We're at the weak point. Please, hurry." She mumbled. "I can't lose you." Then something under the dirt began to cave, heat rising from the ground. She jumped off, raising her hand and trying to make the dirt rise. 

  Then voices, shouts came from below. "Down here. Down here!" Mike, Will, and Nick screamed from underneath the mud. The dirt parted and Nick grabbed on the land, pulling herself up and crawling onto the ground. Then Will, then Mike. 

  "Mike!" El cried as she jumped into his lap, hugging him as tightly as she could, crying as she felt his arms go around her. "it's okay. El. It's okay, we're together now. We're together." She heard Nick whispering something in Will's ear, as everyone else was cheering. 

  "Where's the serum?" Dr. Brendon asked, hands in his pockets of his jacket. Will's face became red and he looked down. "Dad. We couldn't find it. But I know what we need to do. She has the heart. ON her. The lockets. She controls the Demogorgon, the Mind Flayers. Russians, everyone. She is the heart. And she has to be destroyed." Nick said, tears forming in her eyes. Everyone stared at her in shock, even Brendon. 

  "Well sadly." A dark, thick accent came from behind them. "But my dear sister is right. The only way for this is end, is for me to go to the Upside Down. And I hope you have a plan in order to stop me, or everything you love will be destroyed." Samantha smiled as she walked onto a large boulder only meters away. "And you will have to deal with my friend as well. I believe you all know him as well." 

  The Mind Flayer appeared in the sky, blood red and orange growing around him as he moved above the party. "I truly hope you have a plan, my friends. Because I know that I do." 

Duh, duh, DUHHHHHHHH
