Chapter thirty six

When I woke up I was in Slade's bed. My clothes scattered across the floor from last night. I smelled bacon, I didn't know he could cook. I got out of bed wrapping the blankets around me and taking them with me to the kitchen. There was bacon and eggs on the stove and toast in the toaster. There was fruit on the table and i stole a strawberry as I walked by. I wrapped the blankets around his waist and he tensed before relaxing into my arms. He turned around and gently kissed me. I smiled into the kiss and for once since I came home I was truly happy. I smelled something burnt and looked at the stove. The toast was crispy and black making me laugh. "This is why you don't distract the cook. Even though I love being distracted by you." He said smiling and I laughed. We ate breakfast and then I had to take Shado to school so I got dressed and went back to the house sneaking in the back door I left the night before. When I got back to my room Oliver was sitting in my bed. "Where have you been? I thought something had happened to you!" He said I looked down and quietly mumbled "With Slade." He asked me to speak up "With Slade, my damn husband." I emphasized Oliver nodded and told me to sit down. I sat in the chair at my desk and he sighed "Slade knows about how Shado really died. He is pissed and hurt and he has come back to get me for it. He tried to kill me on that boat your last night on the island and thats why he doesn't have an eye. I put an arrow through his eye, the Mirakuru must not have healed that part." This was a lot to take in. Slade wanted Oliver dead and again I was caught in the middle of a war between the two of them. We decided to loop in Felicity and Dig.

We went straight to the club and  Felicity and Dig were about to go into the arrow cave. He filled them in on our current situation and as we descended the stairs he said "I know Slade, he won't just attack at random." We got to the bottom of the stairs and were bombarded with a hail of bullets. I put up a force field so that we could seek cover behind a wall. I screamed "Slade Wilson I swear to god if you don't stop right now I will kick your ass!" The bullets stopped and Slade took off his mask "Andrea I didn't know you would be here. I'm sorry love." I smiled and put an arm around him. "It's alright, do you want to meet some friends while your down here?" He shrugged and I called for Felicity. "Andrea why are you standing with the person who literally just tried to kill us?" I giggle and Slade smiled down at me "Because he's my husband, who I love very much." Slade wrapped his arm around my waist and I put my head on his shoulder. Oliver sighed and Felicity looked at him as if I was crazy, which I probably was. "Is she for real?" Dig asked and Oliver nodded sadly. I walked Slade out of the arrow cave and out back. "Go change and try to drop by the house again later. Mom loves you and it would be great to not have to constantly meet in secret. Talk to us about the company. Something to get you around the family for a minute. Shado thinks that because of your eye that your a pirate, it's kinda cute." I wrapped my arms around his neck and played with his hair "You sir need a haircut. It's getting messy. I love it but it interferes with your grumpy demeanor." I said laughing "I am not grumpy. I happen to be delightful." He said smiling. I loved seeing this side of him. Playful and happy. It was nice. He smiled and pulled off his gear and put it in a duffle bag. He said that he was going to get a haircut and he would be back in a half hour. Meanwhile I made a call to my favorite person at star labs. I needed a new suit and Slade needed both eyes. Cisco has some work to do.
