Chapter thirty eight

Shado loved her new 'Halloween costume'. She ran around the house all day in it and Oliver gave me dirty looks all day. "You shouldn't encourage her like that, you know that this life is dangerous."  I glared at him, "She is just like Slade, the strength, the speed, sight, smell. She's just like him in every way." Oliver sighed and as the doorbell rang he said. "We'll talk about this later." When the door opened Slade stood there, clean shaved, two eyes, and a haircut. He looked just as I remembered from the island. Shado came running around the corner and I put up a force field before she knocked into the end table by the door. She collided with the force field and landed on her ass. Slade extended a hand and helped her up. "Do you like my costume Mr. Wilson? I look just like Phase!" She practically bounced up and down. "I love it, but I don't think I know who your talking about." He said with a smirk. "She's the most awesome hero ever. She lives in Starling city and she works with the Arrow. Mom knows her really well. I got to meet her once!" Slade chuckled and Thea walked in. "Mr. Wilson what are you doing here?" She asked "I was hoping to discuss some business with your mother but she appears to not be here, I can come back later. It was nice seeing you all." He gave a small wave and went out to his car.

Mom answered the door this time, Slade gave a small smile and stepped in. "Good to see you Moira, I stopped by earlier but you weren't home." Mom laughed and led him to the living room. I sat down across from Slade and Oliver sat across from mom. Slade and mom started talking business and bullshit with a few side comments from me. Oliver sat quietly, staring daggers at Slade. Finally Oliver gave up and offered to pick up Shado from school, I gave him the go ahead and he abruptly left. He was pissed about something which I would figure out later. Right now I was having a pleasant conversation with my husband and adoptive mother. How did we get here?

Ok I know I haven't updated recently but please don't yell. I've been working on a John Murphy story that I will publish next week and A John Constantine story that will come out next month. My birthday is coming up and I've been busy with calming my family about me being 14 this year. I've started learning how to drive which I already know how to do but oh well. I have been busy as shit and updates will be slow af. Love y'all ❤️❤️❤️
