Cains POV
After Zara walks in I follow after her to make sure she finds once she walks down the stairs I turn around heading to the living room taking a seat on the couch. As I'm flipping through channels Atticus walks in, coming right for me. "Did she come back?" He immediately questions. "Yeah. She's been in the gym for a couple of hours." I tell him. "The gym? Why?" He questions. "She probably needed to let off some steam. She wasn't really happy Atticus."
He walks away from him and I want to follow him to make sure he doesn't upset her even more but In chose against it. Once the door is closed I get up and make my way upstairs towards Atticus' office. Upon walking in I see Leo sitting at the desk going through a stack of papers. "How's it going, Leo?" He looks up at me and smiles. "Good I guess. I just wish your brother wouldn't leave this place so unorganized." He complains causing me to laugh. "You know you're supposed to be my beta right?" I say laughing. "Yeah, Cain I know. I just hate how you and your brother are so alike sometimes. You give me enough of a headache." He chuckles.
"As long as everything goes right this week we'll be heading home Saturday. " I tell him. He lets out a sigh of relief. "Thank the goddess. I mean don't get me wrong I like hanging out with your brother and all but I can only handle so much of this clutter." "Well then let's get out of the house. I'll see if Zara wants to go out with us tonight." I offer. "Do you think Atticus will you take her anywhere without him?" He questions. "Yeah. I'm helping him with her. They don't have the best relationship." I explain.
Leo and I stay in the office organizing Atticus' papers in the office when I hear what sounds like Atticus' door slam. "What was that?" Leo asks sounding worried. "They're probably fighting again. " I say with an eye roll. "I'll go make sure they aren't trying to kill each other."
I walk out of the office and catch a glimpse of Zara running downstairs. I follow after her worried that she's gonna try leaving again until she turns to the kitchen. "Hey, are you alright?" I question furrowing my eyebrows. She quickly turns around staring at me like I just caught her stealing something. "Did Atticus find you? I told him you went to the gym earlier. I think he wanted to apologize." I tell her. "Um. Y-yeah he d-did." She stutters.
Why is she so nervous. What did she do? I question myself. 'Hey. What's wrong with Zara?' I mind link Atticus. 'I don't know man. She was fine when she left my room.' He tells me. 'Uhh, why was she in your room?' I question accusingly. "She took a shower." I hear him say right behind me. I turn around and see him with a smirk on his lips. I look back to see Zara standing there as stiff as a board. 'What do you think happened?' My wolf questions. 'I'm not sure.' I respond.
"Umm well this is weird but hey Zara I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me and my beta tonight. Get you out of the house for a bit." I ask her. "Yes." "No." They say at the same time. 'Something happened!' My wolf accuses. I look at Atticus and raise an eyebrow. "Why not brother. It's just me. I'll take good care of her." I tell him with a smirk. "He doesn't get to decide what I do. I'm going. What time?" Zara says in a rush. "I'll come and get you at 9. " I say not taking my eyes off Atticus.
"Brother I'm taking your car to get her some clothes. I'll be back in a little bit." I tell him trying to hold in a laugh. "Can I come?" Zara whispers. "I mean if you're getting me clothes should I be there to decide if I like them or not." She says. "Why of course. That is a splendid idea." I exclaim. "Fine. But I don't like it." Atticus huffs while turning around and storming out of the room causing me to bust out laughing.
