PERCY'S POV:

"Ugh, remind me again why we are doing this." I whined as I tripped on a tree root for which must have been the millionth time. We have been searching the woods for what felt like hours.

"Because Seaweed brain," Annabeth, my girlfriend, said. Not even looking at me. "When a god gives you a dream telling you to go somewhere, you obey. No ifs, ands, or buts Especially if that dream is from your father."

I knew she was right, but that didn't stop me from hitting a tree branch in anger.

Last night, I received a dream from Poseidon, my father, telling me to search in the woods for someone or something. You know the gods, they love themselves a mystery, and keeping valuable information away from their children.

It wasn't uncommon for demigods to receive dreams and missions from gods. In fact I have been fighting monsters and going on quests since I was twelve. I returned Zues' stolen lighting bolt at that age. Me and my friends also saved the world from the rise of the Titan Kronos when I was sixteen. And a few years ago me and my friends had saved the world from Gaia, the earth goddess, who tried to rise to destroy the entire human race. So you know, just the typical life of a demigod.

I was so lost in thought, that I hadn't realized that Annabeth had stopped in front of me. I rammed into her causing her curly blonde hair to gather in my mouth. I coughed and hacked as I struggled to get her hair out of my mouth.

I was about to ask her why she stopped when She put her hand over my mouth and looked me in the eyes with her stormy grey ones. Gods, she is beautiful. We have been dating for over three years. But it feels like we have known eachother for forever. We have been through so much together. We started our freshmen year in college this year in New Roman and the two of us were really looking forward to relaxing this summer. But then I had that dream and I had a feeling that all those plans were going down the drain.

I snapped back to reality looking into Annabeths eyes. They sent a clear message. Stay quiet and stay hidden.

She removed her hand from my mouth and I mouthed why? Then I heard it.

The sound of booming laughter. The sound shook the earth. Annabeth and I looked at eachother and came to a silent agreement. That was the reason we were sent here. Annabeth and I slowly walked toward the sound, hiding behind trees to keep from being seen. The sound came from the middle of a clearing in the woods. How had we not come across this until now? I don't even what to talk about it. We hid behind a huge tree and my eyes widened at what I saw.

There were two cyclopes at least fifteen feet tall standing above a girl. One of the cyclopses had a dark wooden club as big as two busses, the other one had a ruby nose piercing.'

The Girl looked around seventeen, but it was hard to tell her back to me. She had long wavy black hair, rich caramel skin. Her stance was relaxed and kinda bored. As if she had been in this situation before and was getting tired of it. She was obviously a demigod.

One, the mist doesn't have an effect on her because she obviously saw the monsters towering over her. But there was something else too, she radiated power and confidence. The kind that comes off of demigods with years of training. But this Girl didn't seem familiar. Yes her back was turned, and yes, I don't know ever single camper from Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter, but I knew for a fact that she has never set foot at either camp or else she would be wearing one of the camp shirts.
