Jason's POV
Piper was supposed to watch the wolf, but when it bit her, People thought that I was the best option to watch it because I was trained by a few wolves when I was younger. Don't ask.
I was already distracted, worrying about Piper. And the wolf wasn't making it easier by circling me with it's teeth bared.
But it got worse when the girl ran into the arena.
Honestly, I didn't suspect anything. She was covered in oil and dirt and she was wearing an orange, Camp Half Blood hoodie, so I assumed she was a daughter of Hephaestus.
Those guys are constantly walking around covered in something. Especially my best friend Leo Valdez who is head of the Hephaestus cabin, and the king of messiness. But he is a talented mechanic, like the rest of the Hephaestus kids, so we don't complain about it. So like I said, I didn't suspect anything.
When she talked to me she avoided eye contact and fidgeted, but that happens a lot when people talk to me. She was about as tall as Piper, with dark wavy hair, and caramel colored skin.
She's around my age seventeen, and she had green eyes that looked so familiar but I couldn't figure out why.
The girl told me Piper, my girlfriend, was asking for me. She offered to watch the wolf a little too quickly so that made me hesitate. And she mentioned that the wolf was a boy, only Percy and Annabeth got close enough to the wolf to know that, but they were in a meeting with Mr. D and Chiron.
I voiced my suspicion to her and I was taken aback by her sudden burst of confidence, and I was taken aback a bit more when she offered to tell me what she looked at to know the wolf was a boy.
I declined that information, but I took her offer on leaving the wolf in her care. But I was so focused on her that I didn't know the wolf was getting ready to attack.
If it wasn't for my training I would have been wolf bits.
On instinct I went for a kill strike but my sword flew out of my hand, by a long double headed celestial bronze scythe.
The owner of it was none other than the Hephaestus girl, but that's when I realized that she was the demigod that Percy and Annabeth brought in.
Great.
So now back to real time.
I flew into the air as the demigod army and I charged at the girl. I expected her to be overrun easily given that it was two against forty and that I was controlling the wind attempting to knock her off balance, but after about four minutes my theory went down the drain.
Gods this girl can fight.
She moved like a machine, barely staying on the ground for over a second, leaping from demigod to demigod, somehow avoiding the sleeping darts and attacks that came at her from all sides.
She didn't kill, she managed to knock people out by punching and pinching them leaving them handicapped. She barely even used her weapon, not that she really needed it. She only used it to deflect sleep darts. Which was another way that she knocked people out. And her wolf definitely helped her out.
Oh my gods, the wolf.
It distracted the demigods by snapping at them, giving enough time for the girl to knock them via touch, or via dart in the butt.
Even the ground was against us. Everytime we even got close to restraining her the ground shook, knocking us down.
We would have lost if Nico and his skeletons hadn't shown up.
