CHAPTER SIX:
EXPLOSIONTHE TWO WOMEN STOOD THERE in the building, looking around at the many people that were inside but not talking to any of them except for each other. Victoria's mind was elsewhere, wondering what Steve was going to do. She blinked when a woman came up to them.
"Excuse me, Miss Romanoff, Miss Mason." The two women looked up, offering the other lady a small smile. "These need your signatures." She handed both women a clipboard and a pen. Natasha immediately signed her name, and Victoria held the pen, hesitating for a moment before looking at Natasha who gave her a small nod. She let out a soft sigh before signing and offering the woman a smile as she handed the woman the clipboard back.
"I suppose none of us are used to being in the spotlight." Prince T'challa appeared in front of the two women, offering them both smiles.
"Oh, well, it's not always so flattering." Natasha responded.
"I think I have to be used to the spotlight." Victoria sighed, a smile on her face. "I'm dating Tony Stark, I have no choice." The prince smiled at this whilst Natasha smirked in amusement. T'challa's eyes fell on Natasha as he spoke once more.
"You seem to be doing alright so far. Considering your last trip to Capitol Hill . . . I wouldn't think you would be particularly comfortable in this company."
"Well, I'm not." Natasha answered truthfully. "But, I have Tori here, so I'll survive."
"That alone makes me glad you're here, Miss Romanoff." T'challa nodded before looking over at Victoria and nodding to her as well. "You as well, Miss Mason."
"Why? You don't approve of this?" The assassin quizzed.
"The Accords, yes. The politics, not really. Two people in a room can get more done than a hundred." T'challa told them.
"Unless you need to move a piano." King T'chaka appeared, smiling at the three as he took a stand beside of his son.
"Father." T'challa greeted, nodding his head.
"Son." T'chaka nodded before looking at the two women. "Miss Romanoff, Miss Mason."
"King T'chaka." Victoria smiled. "It's lovely to finally be able to meet you."
Natasha greeted the king as well before saying, "Please, allow us to apologize for what happened in Nigeria."
"Thank you both." He said, a sad smile on his face. "Thank you for agreeing to all this. I'm sad to hear that Captain Rogers will not be joining us today."
"Yes. . ." Victoria said with a frown, a sigh leaving her lips. "So are we."
"If everyone could please be seated. This assembly is now in session." The man on the speakers spoke.
