Talia POV
My work shift ended about 2 hours ago and I'm now at my house. I told Zoey to keep me posted with Kamesha. I still can't believe that my niece was shot. It's like nobody is safe even if you're a child. I just don't know who would have enough heart to do such a thing.
Christmas is in like two weeks and it sucks that Mimi is going to have to be in pain on Christmas.
I'm really excited for Christmas actually because Andre is coming here finally. He is hopefully going to meet my father and he wants me to meet his family. Not looking forward to that at all.
Honey's bitch ass is going to try something and I know it. Her ass can't be trusted because of her being sneaky in the past.
My phone vibrates on my end table and I quickly picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Talia. The doctor just told us that the surgery was successful. He said that Mimi will most likely have intense asthma because the bullet was so close to her heart." Zoey said in sad and tired tone.
"Aww well thank god that she is ok. Are you ok though?" I asked.
"Honestly, no. I was wondering if me and Mimi could stay with you for a little bit. I no longer feel safe at that house." she said. I sighed and closed my eyes for a second.
"Yah, sure. But I hope you don't try to avoid Jay. You guys should not separate over this but you should become closer if anything for the sake of Mimi." I said.
"I just need a little time away."
"That's fine. I will be home so just bring your stuff whenever." I said. She thanked me then hung up.
I low key feel bad for Jay because he doesn't deserve to have his daughter taken away. On the other hand, I understand where Zoey is coming from. I feel uncomfortable now because I'm in the middle of whatever they got going on in their relationship.
Jay POV
I sat in Kamesha's hospital room as she slept. I had my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands.
I don't know how I let this happen and who the fuck did this. All I know is, that person is a dead man walking. You ain't about to hurt my princess and get away with it. That's my lifeline right there and I would kill for her any day.
"I'm going to be staying with Talia for a little bit." Zoey said, coming out of the bathroom. I looked at her as I took deep breaths, trying not to flip out.
"Don't be a petty bitch Zoey. You're doing this just to get to me. Stop acting like as if I'm the one who shot our daughter." I said.
"I'm not acting like that. I'm just concerned for me and my daughters safety. Until you fix this little situation, we're staying with Talia."
"The hell? You're not taking my daughter away from me. She's staying with me. I got her." I said, my leg bouncing up and down at this point.
"She's coming with me and that's final. I'm not risking her life again. You fix this problem first before either of us comes back to that house. We got lucky this time and there shouldn't be a next time." she said.
"Keep thinking you're big shit Zoey. You're not taking my daughter away from me and that's that. Try me." I said, snapping.
"Alright Jay. Keep underestimating me." she said before she grabbed her bag and left the room.
She knows she's not strong enough to leave like that. Plus, shit is going to change once Mimi gets better. Security gonna be patrolling ALL parts of my house and securities are going to be installed all throughout the house. I'm not playing games with my daughters life.
