KURAPIKA POV:
I woke up without arms wrapped around me. Confused I turned to my side to see that my brown haired lover wasn't lying next to me.
He's probably studying, I thought as I checked the alarm. Wait, it's already 2 pm?
Dammit, I slept in really long. I sat up straight and put on some pants before leaving the bedroom. Across the hall I came across Gon who was watering the small plants he grew himself.
"Good morning, Kurapika!" Gon said happily.
"Good morning, Gon. Have you seen Leorio?" I asked with a gently smile.
"I thought he was with you?" He stopped watering the plants, tilting his head a little like a confused puppy.
"Okay... thanks anyways." I entered the study room to see no one sitting in that dark brown chair where Leorio would always sit down.
There were a few books stacked on the desk though, and weirdly enough they didn't look like the normal books he used. Once I got closer I realized that these were definitely not for his medical studies.
I opened the top book and went to the page he marked with a bookmark.
The book itself was a book filled with studies of different clans and tribes. The page marked was the Kurta Clan. To be more specific, Kurta clan's traditions. Clothing, holidays, marriage and engagement, and overal culture.
Why was he studying my clan? He could've just asked me about it. I put the book down and checked the other books. All of them were marked at pages that contained information about my clan. I decided to ask him about later and left the study room again.
"Hmm... where could he be...?" I checked every room in the house to realize that he really wasn't home.
I grabbed my phone and called him, but without success. I got immediately sent to voice mail. My worry grew a little as I had no clue where he could be.
I also asked Killua if he had seen Leorio, but he didn't either. Taking action, I got dressed and decided to head into town, trying to find him.
"Kurapika, you're overreacting, he'll probably be home soon." Killua said as I tied my laces.
"No, Killua. It's different, my eyes feel off and I feel like there's something wrong."
"Just, be careful." Gon added before I close the door behind me. I caught the next train to the nearest town and started walking around, asking if they saw a tall man with small sunglasses.
As I was about to lose hope, someone walked up to me and explained that they saw him. They pointed in the direction of a antique store. I thanked them before running to the entrance.
Entering that store was a whole experience on its own. The store was very warm and the air felt moist. The walls were covered in scrolls and the ceiling was filled with lamps. I had to do my very best to not kick anything over and found my way to the cashier desk. There was an older lady cleaning jewelry.
"Excuse me, miss?" Kurapika softly said.
"Yes, what can I do for you, young lady?" She said and put down the ring.
Not being bothered by the misgendering, I asked her if a tall, brown haired man had come here recently.
"Yes, he definitely did. About two hours ago." She said.
"What did he buy?" I said excited.
"I apologize, that information is classified." She put down the ring she cleaned and grabbed another ring. It was until then that I noticed they were all engagement rings.
