Aftermath [ Kurapika x Leorio ] (continuation of the body swap au)

"Look Leorio I can explain-" Kurapika started, already almost on his knees begging for forgiveness.

"Can you, Kurapika? Can you?" He had an aggressive undertone in his voice that gave Kurapika chills, "because all you kept telling me was that you've been doing better. That was all a lie. How do you expect me to trust anything you say now, huh?" Leorio gave Kurapika a judgy look.

"I did it because I didn't want to worry you, but please believe me when I say I have been doing better. My emotional state is stable enough to get out of bed. My physical state is something I'm working on. You're so busy with your medical studies that I didn't want to bother you even more with my problems as well." Kurapika was calm and composed, yet very emotional. He looked like his tears could jump out of his eyes any second.

"Kurapika, you're never a burden. I'd rather have you talk about your struggles than finding out like this. You lied to me. Thank you for damaging my trust." Leorio rushed out of the room, but was stopped by a chain wrapping around his wrist, pulling him back.

"Kurapika, let me go." He didn't even bother to turn around.

"No, I want to sort this out with you."

"Oh, so now all of the sudden you want to do this together? No. Let me go."

Kurapika started tearing up. He pulled back the chains and released Leorio.

"I'm sorry." Kurapika said with a breaking voice before Leorio walked away.

He threw the door shut and left Kurapika alone on the room.

Kurapika's knees started trembling and cold tears rushed down his cheek. He collapsed to the floor and started coughing. Louder and louder, his throat hurting and getting sore, until little bits of blood started coming out with every cough. The breaths that he took in between were irregular and with great panic he tried to scream for help, but after figuring out it wasn't going to do much, he covered his mouth with his hand, trying to stop the blood from coming out.

Once the coughing eventually stopped, his hands were covered in his own blood. His eyes turned scarlet and he tried to quickly calm himself down. With his back against the wall he wiped his tears, only staining his face with blood more.

"Hey old man, where's Kurapika?" Killua said as he was still holding Gon. Gon turned his head around from Killua's chest.

"He's upstairs, leave him alone for a while." Leorio said coldly while grabbed cookies from the cabinet and started binge eating.

"What happened?" Gon meddled in.

"Nothing." Leorio was getting a little angry again, but tried to calm himself down.

"It's about Kurapika's body, isn't it?" Gon figured and let go of Killua and walked to Leorio, trying to comfort him.

"I said it was nothing, Gon." His expression was telling Gon to stay away.

"Gon, leave him be for now." Killua said, trying to hold him back.

"I have the right to know right? Aren't we all family? We're in this together right?" Gon's voice was raising.
