There is no God among our world, and I control my own life.

Watching him bleed made me realise those two things.

This is probably the first time in forever I didn't shake in his presence. I lowered the gun and watched him fall to his knees and clutch his leg.

It felt good to see him in pain. Even if it was nothing near what he did to me.

"You fucking.... Bitch!" He glared up at me as he clenched his jaw, "I'm gonna kill you for real this time!" He got up shakily and grabbed the gun off his desk, "And I'll do it myself to make sure that you're dead."

"That's enough, Midoryia."

I looked up to see Todoroki with his arms crossed.

Deku lowered the gun and dropped the glare instantly, "Todoroki! Thank god! He stole a gun and shot me!"

He let out an annoyed sigh and put a hand on my head. He ruffled my hair gently before pulling me closer, "You can drop the act now. He told me everything."

Todoroki looked over his shoulder and nodded to the guys behind him. We both stepped to the side and I watched as the two guys struggled to cuff Deku.

When they managed to put the handcuffs on him, they dragged him out of the room and down the hall. We listened to him screaming and cursing until he was out of ear shot.

I let out the breath I was holding in and my legs gave out from underneath me.

Todoroki caught me and pulled me close with a small laugh.

I leaned into him and looked at my hands shaking, "That was terrifying..."

He hummed and took my hands in his, "But exhilarating at the same time.... wasn't it...?"

I nodded and took a deep breath to calm my nerves. The shaking stopped and I looked up at him, "Is it always like that...?"

He nodded his head and made me tilt my head back more, "You get used to it..."

I bit my lip slightly and shook my head, "No thanks... I don't really like this feeling...."

He chuckled and kissed the top of my head, "Alright. I'll make sure you never have to shoot anyone again."

I smiled softly and nodded, "Thank you..." I grunted softly and pressed my palm to my forehead as it started to ache again.

He sighed and put his hand on my lower back, "Let's get you back to bed... You should relax for a few days at least."

I shook my head and pushed him away, "I'm fine. Just a little headache..."

He grabbed my arm to steady me when I stumbled.

This was a bad idea.

I just healed from a head injury and then I go and make it worse.

"It's not just a little headache. Come here." He pulled me into his chest and picked me up like a small child, "Let's get you back to bed. And how about another massage?"

I nodded a response and rested my head on his shoulder. I hesitantly wrapped my arms around him to help keep me up.

"Are you going to kill him...?"

He hummed softly, "Do you want me to?"

I thought about it for a second before shaking my head, "That's too easy..."

He laughed quietly and nodded, "I'll make him suffer for you then."

I nodded and nuzzled into the crook of his neck, "Make his life a living hell..."

"You have my word."

I closed my eyes when he started massaging the back of my head. It helped the headache a bit.

I started to nod off as he walked. The gentle sway with every step, his steady breath, and the feel of his heartbeat against my chest.

It was all so calming.

Before I knew it, I was asleep in his arms.

It only felt like a few seconds before I jolted awake, sitting up with a gasp.

"Sorry, did I wake you?"

I looked at Todoroki to see that he was setting me in the bed we shared. I whined and held my head again. He set me down and grabbed something from the nightstand, "Here... They said this would help, but I'm not sure how much." He handed me a couple of Aspirins and some water. I took them and sighed as I felt the water go down my throat, getting rid of the remaining soreness.

The bed shifted under his weight and he ran his fingers through my hair. I closed my eyes at the feeling, "Why does it hurt so much...?"

He chuckled slightly, "I don't know... You'll be better tomorrow so get some sleep..."

He started massaging my scalp and laid down with me. I sighed and opened my eyes just enough to see him, "Am I going to wake up alone again...?"

He paused briefly before pulling me closer, "We'll see..."

I looked down and sighed, "Forget it..." I pulled away from him and rolled over. The headache came back almost instantly, but I ignored the subtle throbbing.

I smiled softly when Marshmallow got on the bed and pulled the ball of fluff closer. I pet his ears gently until I fell asleep with him.
