It was still dark out when I woke up.  I stared out the window for a bit before sighing and sitting up.

"It's still early, go back to sleep."

I yawned and started to rub my eyes. I felt the bed dip and opened my eyes a bit, "Then why are you up?"

He moved some hair out of my face and kissed my forehead gently, "I have some affairs I need to tend too. Ill be back later."

I closed my eyes again at his touch, "Can I come with you? I can stay in the car, no one has to see me..."

He pulled my face closer, a bit rougher than needed. He spoke sternly as he held my gaze, "No. You are to stay in this room."

"But, why? It's all I ever do..."

He sighed and smiled softly, his tone softening once again, "Go back to sleep. You need your rest..."

He laid me down and pulled the blankets up to my neck, "I'll see you later. Breakfast will come at its usual time."

I grabbed onto his hand and looked at him, "I don't want to be alone all day again..."

"You won't." He kissed the back of my hand before attempting to smooth down my spikes, "Now get some sleep. Or else you'll start to get dark circles."

I watched him get up again and yawned as I covered myself up more, "Have a nice day..."

"You too. Good night."

I closed my eyes and heard the door open and close.

It felt like only a few minutes passed before I heard it open again.

"You up yet?"

My body tensed at the unfamiliar voice. I stayed quiet and listened to him sigh, "Whatever..."

There was a clink of metal before the smell of cigarettes started to fill the room. I brought the blanket over to cover my mouth and nose as I groaned. The smell always made me nauseous.

"Good morning sleeping beauty. Brought you breakfast."

I opened my eyes a bit and looked at the intruder. He had messy black hair, tired eyes, and stubble.

If it wasn't for the suit, I would have guessed he was homeless.

I sat up a bit, keeping the blanket around my shoulders, "Who are you?"

"That is classified information."

I narrowed my eyes slightly and watched as he took a hit of his cigarette, "Then why the hell are you here?"

He blew out the smoke slowly before sighing, "I'm here to watch over you in the Kings absence."

I looked at him for a moment before looking down.

"So this is what he meant..."

I sighed and pushed the blankets back to get out of the bed, "Put that shit out and leave. I don't need a babysitter."

I heard him take another hit, "I prefer the term bodyguard."

"Whatever." I pushed open the doors to the balcony to clear out the room, "There's an animal in here. Put it out."

"Yes, your highness." He spoke mockingly as he made his way to the balcony. He dropped the butt and stomped it out before kicking it off the edge. He looked back at me with a bit of annoyance, "Better?"

I rolled my eyes a bit and made my way to the platter of food on the coffee table.  I flinched and chuckled as Marshmallow started his morning routine of running around the room. Picking up the salad bowl, I put it in his usual feeding spot before going back to eat myself.
